Some quick hitting initial impressions. Please note these are all on Simulation All-Madden with the only change being Speed Threshold increased to 95/100.

      - Pass Rush was not touched from the beta. It's there loud and proud.
      - New player models look great like they did in the beta.
      - Not sure if the loose undershirt was tweaked a little after the beta. It sticks out a bit more. I think it could be a bit closer to the body. It looks sort of like a small tennis skirt.
      - Locomotion is so good.
      - Off platform throws are missing on default sliders for myself and the CPU.
      - Not seeing the tipped interception issue from the beta. Nearly every ball is finding grass if it is jarred loose.
      - CPU QB pocket movement is in a good place. Not perfect, but it's nice to see them move in all directions to avoid the rush.

I'll post more as I get more time with the game.

        I forgot.

Madden's different models look great. I love having him in the menu. I hope that if they insist on 3D models in the main menu that it remains Coach.

The longer hair in the game is similar to how next gen Fifa has been in recent years. That also includes Madden's shaggy head. It looks fantastic on him and the players.

Played 2 H2H matches. So far the game plays great IMO, I'm still figuring out the passing mechanics but I like what I am seeing. I need to build my own playbook to really open things up but I'm not sure if I wanna waste my demo time on that.

Is it possible to turn off the "Tilt-o-puke" camera shot on Kick Returns? It's godawful and because the game does inputs based on camera position, it makes it extremely difficult to either to set up returns or to cover them. Who thought it was a good idea to have the camera swivel like that during live gameplay?
Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.

Not much feels better in life than using the hard cut in this game. Even if it doesn't get you free, just putting that foot down and exploding upfield feels great. It has all of the good of cutting in NCAA 14, but with next gen movement and it is not OP at all.

I am also noticing that post play the camera stays in the regular gameplay camera angle somewhat often. Not sure if it is a bug or not since that used to never really be the case, but I enjoy it. It is definitely improved over the jarring camera cuts to unrealistic camera angles that have plagued the series for years.

FG trajectories also seem changed. No more comically low trajectories on anything over 35 yards. They aren't perfect, but much better and most kicks see some slice on them it seems. Another small detail that just makes the experience that much better.

Only 1 game so far(ps5). Was really impressed so far. Game looks great. I like the hair and cloth physics. Player models are so much better

Running gets better every year and that cut mechanic is fantastic.

Wr db interaction is great. I didn't see any real dramatic issues in coverage which ultimately killed 22 for me.

Everything feels real organic with tackling and animations but with the freedom comes some jank. I expected that and am not upset by it.

The new passing mechanics are cool but I didn't find myself really caring about it and more or less did things like I normally do.

The atmosphere justt feels so much better and immersive.

I played a pre season game and the cpu QB was a bit too accurate for my liking especially for a backup.

Really liked how the cpu qb moved around and sensed pressure.

Cpu run game was non existent. Hoping it's a one game thing but this has been my number 1 complaint for a long time.

I have been begging for some change to FG trajectories for years . Also thought they were ridiculously low too. I also would love wind socks on the uprights . Seeing them blowing in the wind would just seem more realistic on FG tries IMO. Seems like a small thing they could add but never do

-Played a little bit of one game as the Lions before I had to pick up my little one from school. Crowd atmosphere seems a lot better to me. They seem louder than last year.

-I really like the new passing. Still trying to figure it out but Im having fun with it.

-Dan Campbell still has a generic model which sucks. Was hoping he would get scanned for this year.

-Im loving the new physics and tackle animations. I haven't seen anything too wonky yet but it's just one game I've played.

The lighting is buggy. 1pm clear day games look dark, like 4pm overcast games. Domes are dark too. The new passing is cool, but I prefer classic. Visual feedback bug from the past 2 years is still in this game. Haven't saw a flag yet, even when one clearly should have been called when the defender knocked my punter down.

Zones from what I can tell so far feel the same. Running game is nice. The lighting though is annoying, they need to patch that or I am just going to play night games.

This is on the Xbox Series X.

                      All Pro Default sliders.
                      Browns (me) vs. Steelers Exhibition

On the kickoff to the Steelers they get called for holding which I have never seen on a Kickoff. They are starting at their own 10 which is a new thing since I never saw holding in KO before. Cool Beans.

Halftime show (or lack of) has actually gone backwards yet again. Halftime arrives and I see coach Tomlin take off headset and starts running to middle of the field like it's game over. Then some NextGen stats and shots of the players and coaches talking and looking over plays on their surface tablets on the sidelines. Weird. It's like they never left the field at halftime. Add to that the NextGen stats were oddly specific like "percent of short throws and completion percentage". That was it for my team. Something odd for the Steelers stats too. I'd rather see overall game stats like passing yds, rushing yds, Turnovers....you know....the standard fare. Especially at halftime.

Anyway....it feels different. Probably in a good way but it's hard to say just yet. I didn't play the beta so this is all new for me.

I will say that I could get "zero" pass rush with Myles Garrett so the techniques I used in 22 may need to be updated.

Oh...and one "legacy issue" I saw. I called a blitz and 2 Defensive Line Men and one LB bust threw onto Mitch Trubisky who starts to turn and run backwards to get away and I knew I had the angle and would sack him....but he spins 180 degrees in the opposite direction he was running and throws against his body to a TE on the other side of the field with perfect accuracy. So there's that still.

and not to be just negative there were 2 times where he overthrew receiver on outcuts where they had gotten open... but he was just inaccurate. This felt authentic.

                      More to come.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but they seem improved this year. I have typically always bumped FG power to 65 each year to get more realistic trajectories, so maybe my memory of the old trajectories has faded, but I distinctly remember in the past on default that even XP's would see the ball only travel halfway up the uprights. So far every XP I've seen so far has had the ball basically be at or near the top of the uprights and the long 40+ yard FG I saw get kicked was closer to 3/4 up the uprights and not near the crossbar like in years past.

I may still need to bump it up this year, but it won't be 65 like in the past.

                            Pre-Season: Raiders vs Broncos

                            1) AI QB (Wilson) 2nd play of game hits WR Sutton for 55 yrd bomb with smaller DB draped all over him = catch (loved the shot play so early)

*** WR on User team will go up for catches, instead of watching the DB

                            2) AI Ball Carrier/After-Catch tackle evasiveness (even by WR) is alive & well

                            3) Acceleration is very pronounced with players with high ACC ratings

                            4) Kick Return still sometimes trigger that logic where outside blockers run up the sideline blocking blocking no one.

                            5) The training wheels are off concerning Passing, esp when selecting "Unlimited" instead of Far/Near

                            - previous Madden's we were bailed out with just pressing the WR button and the game got the ball there for us, now ball placement is literally decided by the User

***Maybe it's just me, but the L-Stick Guiding Sensitivity seems a little more pronounced than in the Beta (which I like)

                            6) The Peanut Punch Knockout by AI defenders is definitely not at the level it was in the Beta

                            7) Looked at two Draft Classes

                            - a couple of "99" SPD WR thrown in, but their positional ratings (Catch/CIT) where on the low end, signifying that's all they're going to provide

                            - Positional ratings seem to be spread out more, really separating what skillset the player possess.
(ie very fast WR but will have lots of dropsies)

I think the new passing will take a bit to learn, spent my 30 min lunch messing around with it--not really sure how it works...i REALLY want to learn it, since its such a talked about and new features- otherwise after a week the game will feel like Madden 22 for me. I do like the little TOUCHDOWN graphic added when you score a td, kind of reminds me of FOX when they have their little superhero looking TD dudes--- will have more impressions tonight.
