    NBA 2K17 Pro-Am Primer: Offense

    What's good folks?

Now, I'm not going to beat around the bush with you guys. Going back to last year, I think NBA 2K's Pro-Am separates the men from the boys. In order to be successful, one has to at least have an elementary grasp of the concept of basketball. Add in the quick thinking already required to man the sticks on any game, and you really have an opportunity to make your homies put their proverbial money where their mouth is.

I figured I'd start this three-part series with everyone's favorite side of the floor: offense.

You really have to take pride in your offense in this edition of the NBA 2K series or you will be embarrassed. From catching nothing but air on an open three to finding no rim on a layup attempt, I'm pretty sure I've just about seen it all.

    Nice writing Chris.

Our RatedSim ProAm team uses a base "Horns" set as our principal half court offense, from there we created plays in the CoachBase Basketball mobile app where we design quick plays to run.

we practice them in the ProAm arena before each game. It's so important to know where your teammates are going to be on offense.

When will 2k make defense a priority. How is that a player dribbling can move faster than a player without the ball, that's why on-ball defense is so annoying. You can use the best defender in 2k and get lit up by Tony Allen. Without proper footwork (planting the foot as if there is actually a floor) defense will always be subpar. This game is so close to true greatness but it seems online & myteam is more important (both of these modes completely ignore sim basketball. Offense in 2k feels like it's just run & gun no matter the team or mode you're playing.

Top teams use zero skill or strategy.

Sorry but this write-up is a lot like the entire game, pretty words on a screen poorly executed that mean nothing about simulation basketball.

Can be fun...real fun...but no, ProAm does not desperate anything as far as skill and strategy is concerned.

Offense - Set a lot of moving screens while a playmaker dances near them, eventually a shooter will get open or the playmaker will zig-zag and then hit a three he shouldn't hit because he's mastered his release.

This is the only offense that matters really.

Pro am isnt basketball, it is more 3pt show... 2K must make 3pt slider on 47 (now 50)

Yeah pro am is becoming a joke with all those moving screens, the zig zagging, the corner 3 cheese, delay on d and ridiculous foul calls, sharpshooters hitting contact layups on paint protectors, 6 ft guards blocking 7'3 centers that pump faked, hell even those 55 ovr slasher bots hit contested 3s in your face and yet you suggest to people to learn more about basketball? I just dont get it.

Just get a sharpshooter and a couple of centers and youre good to go. The sharpshooter can throw up as many shots as wants because the 2 centers well grab nearly all the rebounds.

Also Playmaker are completely obsolete. They nerfed our speed and ball handling. As well as our shooting but I'm not worry about shooting

The whole "No Rep While Playing With Your Team" thing kind of killed the mode for me and my friends. It boggles my mind a bit that you can get it as a walk on, but not if you enter through your Team Arena....Lame design choice, IMO.
