Re: NBA 2K17 MyLEAGUE, MyLEAGUE Online & MyGM Blog With Erick Boenisch
I may have read over this but was there any mention of the player/coach and GM interactions in MyGM mode?
Example:
Player: "I think I deserve more minutes and a better role in this organization."
GM: "Well Steph Curry, our most superstar player, is ahead of you right now so you'll have to wait until you earn your place in this club."
Player: "Nonsense! I don't like the way you've handled this situation!"
** morale plummets**
GM: "If you can just be a little patient, we can find a better role for you once you prove yourself that you can work as a team."
Player: "NO! I want to be traded! NOW!"
GM: "..."
...Exits out of MyGM and just plays MyLeague instead.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 MyLEAGUE, MyLEAGUE Online & MyGM Blog With Erick Boenisch
I'll take anything more than two. Four is fine, too, I just want to the ability to keep some around ... I'm wondering if the team schemes uploads can be done on the fly and limited to just jerseys. That would be a workaround if we only have two.
That way, if we want to play with a certain pair of jerseys for a season (or even a few games), we can download the new jerseys, overwrite our current ones (not altering the name, primary logo or anything else with our team), then redownload our past ones once we tire of the new ones.
Heck, if I could save uniform sets locally and switch them prior to games, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I just don't want to be limited to just two uniforms, it really kills my motivation to experiment if I have to sacrifice good uniforms for unknowns that look great on (digital) paper but don't look as good in game as I thought.
I got around that with multiple save files, but things got cluttered and a bit confusing since we can't custom name our saves anymore (which I would love to have that feature back, too, small as it is).Comment

At least I hope that's how it works.Comment

That's what it sounds like to me, too, which I'm fine with -- not as natural as scrolling through uniforms right before the game launches, but much more workable than what I did last year.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 MyLEAGUE, MyLEAGUE Online & MyGM Blog With Erick Boenisch
90-95% of this blog sounds amazing and a lot of it is things that has been on my personal wishlist (Start Today feature, Protected Picks, etc.) for awhile, so I'm beyond excited.
The only real negative for me was this:
MyLEAGUE Online does not revolve around money and contracts. That is something we have limited to our offline experience. Instead, we are adding a fantasy element (of sorts) to the mode this year. That core fantasy element revolves around the concept of ‘Keepers’. Every player in the league has a number of ‘keeper years’ attached to him. At the end of every season, the GM of each team is able to keep a set number of players on their roster (this number is totally customizable by the Admin), so long as the players in question have at least 1 keeper year left. Players who no longer have any keeper years left simply become a free agent.
Please just give us a normal draft and a normal free agent bidding system in NBA 2K18.
Once that happens I will finally play MLO.... until then I'll continue enjoying NBA 2K offline and I can't safety say it will be my most played game (online or offline) again this year.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Not a great improvement for online heads. I hope people who runs leagues longer than one season are happy.
For me, I'm just hoping that the advance rotation option is also for Online leagues.
And I wish an option for the dynamic rosters to affect the league was implemented as well...http://www.anba2k.com/ - League for 30 spanish simheads

I really hope they improved the money that FAs want. It was criminally low last year and frankly one of the only smudges on the mode.

Wow.
Number 1, I just love Erick's overall attitude and passion about this mode. It truly comes across as genuine and I love how every time he talks about a little detail that most people may not even understand or care about, such as CBA additions and corrections, you feel his excitement that it's another step towards full sim. Overwhelmed be damned, learn something ESPN won't teach you folks lol.
Anyone who took the time to read this http://www.operationsports.com/forum...rrections.html knows how important real salary cap rules are to me. Well, it certainly seems like Erick, Leftos, Davez and the rest of the team took the time, and I appreciate it more than anything.
While the Derrick Rose rule, Minimum Contracts, and trading rules were highlighted, some more were inferred such as Early Bird rights. Love it. Dead Money is encouraging for Cap Holds as well as the Stretch Provision, but I doubt they got that far. Let's just hope now that everything is assigned correctly. UFA/RFA and Bird Years were all over the place last year and were WAY too large of a task for Stauff to get corrected post-launch. If we can edit those kind of things though, it's all good.
While we all would love to see the D-League and draft and stash make an appearence, as well as other little things that go a long way towards "full customization" such as editing team colors for accessories for each jersey, the ability to select what socks and such your team wears on a given night, I am 100% encouraged about the direction MyLeague continues to head. While Madden allows users to edit player body types and appearences in Franchise mode (although it's very bare bones), I can't imagine this 2k team accepting that ANYTHING is done better in another sports game's framchise mode.
I do wish advanced rotations existed outside these modes, but that's ok, as long as substitution logic in general has been addressed after years of bugs.
Easier Roster Editing is probably my favorite (and my girlfriends favorite for the sake of time saved lol) addition. However, I'm getting the feeling it is only for ratings, and not having the same capability for tendencies definitely sucks, as most of us know more time is spent on those. I could be wrong, but even if I'm not, this is still a HUGE addition.
Well done team! I cant wait to dive in.Last edited by Mikelopedia; 09-09-2016, 03:13 PM.Die hard Heat and Dolphins fan since '89

All sounds great except for MLO. That's really disappointing. So how are keeper years distributed? Is it based off real contract years? Or does every player get 5? That would mean having a fantasy draft every 5 years and no reason to ever take a rookie and develop them during those years. Definitely need some more details on this.Student of the game. #Fundamentals

Re: NBA 2K17 MyLEAGUE, MyLEAGUE Online & MyGM Blog
It's seems as though they don't want to replicate MyLeague Offline into their Online mode. Wasn't even a mention of issues trying to add in free agency or something like that. Bizarre.
I already play fantasy basketball. Offline it is once again.
Hopefully the rivalry thing works well. Sounds cool.
We love MyLEAGUE Online, we absolutely do, which is why we didn't start with Online Association as a base last year. We wanted something awesome and stable. And this year we wanted to bring in a lot of features from the offline experience that were missing, and we absolutely had to add multi-year progression. However, when it came down to the nitty-gritty, full CBA/contract/money support would be too much work for this year. There's a lot of aspects to it, from deferred negotiation responses during the season, to all the admin tools we'd need to add to make sure the league doesn't get stuck because a user won't make a decision, to all the offseason time periods...
Now, I'm not allowed to make any promises, nor do I want to, but I just want to make it clear that when we want to get there. When that will happen, I don't know. But I know that everyone on the team wanted to get there, but for this year, we figured out something that would take a realistic amount of time to implement and that would be fun.
One aspect missing from Erick's blog is how your keepers/protected players affect your draft presence. There's two different settings on how that works:
Bottom of Draft: All your protected players occupy the bottom picks of the draft.
Overall Ranking Buckets: Your protected players occupy picks in the draft based on their overall ranking. Any top 30 player is a guaranteed 1st round pick lost. A second top 30 player protected would make you lose your 2nd round pick. A player ranked between 91-120 would be a 4th round pick lost, and so on. So there's a game there in researching who's available in the draft and deciding which rounds you're willing to give up on to protect the players that are most important to you.
Our initial default was "Bottom of Draft", but we changed it to "Overall Ranking Buckets" after our very first playtest, since it made things way more intriguing and forced you to strategize.
We sincerely hope you enjoy MyLEAGUE Online as much as we did playtesting it. And if you know the team Erick B./SimBaller assembled late in the 2K14 cycle and have been paying attention to how much MyLEAGUE and MyGM have grown since 2K15 onwards, you know we're nowhere near done.Eleftherios "Leftos" Aslanoglou

Re: NBA 2K17 MyLEAGUE, MyLEAGUE Online & MyGM Blog With Erick Boenisch
Leftos can you shed any information on MyGM as far as player/GM interactions and how touchy morale was where players would want minutes and a better role when they didn't earn it or deserve it yet. And then when you would tell them that, they'd get upset and morale would drop. Sometimes they would want to be traded after that.Comment
