exactly. even if its corny it still gives further incentive to play. do you know how boring it is to just go game to game with a myplayer without any story driving it? its essential at this point and theyll never take it out because it would be complete and utter regression. people need to stop complaining that they're putting EFFORT into a story mode. can it be better yes? but the ppl saying itd be better without it are completely wrong

There are people like me who don't want to deal with cringe worthy cutscenes. If I want a good story I'll play Metal Gear Solid, The Last of Us, The Witcher 3, etc. NBA 2K sure as hell isn't on that list. I play it because I like basketball.

You're telling me the actual concept of 2K (you know, playing basketball) is "boring" if it doesn't have poorly done cutscenes in between? That seems strange to me, but each to his own.

There is one concern of mine as I watched the trailer again.

I feel like the "journey" of your player will still be scripted like it was last year. Like, obviously the story is about you and Justice being a duo, but does that mean your ENTIRE career will be you and him?

1. What if I get traded or released to FA? Will Justice get traded to the same team also?

2. Is he going to literally follow me around everywhere like a lost puppy?

3. Like all the "branching paths" will be ...me and my teammate Justice instead of me taking a different path.

4. All my decisions will reflect me and him, not just me?

Clearly if i'm a Point Guard and he's a Small Forward or something, the team we're on might want to deal me to a different team but that different team already has a good SF so he stays and I go? See what I mean?

I'm curious how this will play out.

If it's anything like last year, Justice probably dies.

It gets repetitive, I used to love last gens mycareer. I remember playing everytime I got the chance. Sadly though at a certain point you get tired of the same thing everytime you play. A story is a breath of fresh air to me, something interactive that gives you another purpose to play on top of basketball.
It would be silly of 2K to say here's a mode that can one day be filled with possibilities, let's take it back to square one.
It's funny how so many people back in old gen days wanted cutscenes so bad back then, but now want to take them out. Hah.

This trailer didn't really revealed anything we didn't beforehand, so I could've lived without. The character they made for the trailers looks ugly as ****, borderline looking like a drug addict, lol. I they improve the CAP face maker in future games, but it doesn't look too promising; yes, a lot of people will scan their fance, but others won't bother, and let's not start with the roster/draft creators...

I don't understand why we just can't be our real names would it really be hard that to have these no name voice actors do a run through of a 1000+ names. Heck Adam Silver is able to drop hundreds of different names during the draft and he is the damn commish of the NBA.

Seriously Freq, President of basketball and orange juice is just beyond corny and lame.

Other than that I'm sure the game mode will be decently fun.

Cut scenes are my least favourite part about MyCAREER, and that's all they showed, lol.

I like it all (except for that stupid nickname, has to be 2K trolling). I'll reserve final judgement until I get my hands on it next week, but so far 90% of what I've seen for the game has me excited and 10% has me wondering.

I'm wondering when 2k's going to finally understand this. Don't get me wrong, all the other stuff's great, but this story in career mode stuff isn't done well, comes off as corny.
