Everything sounds great and I'm hopeful it all works as intended. I'm mostly hyped up about easier roster editing, advanced rotation settings, being able to once again edit hot zones, the improvements to freelance offenses/sets/playbooks and the continued evolution of ACE.

Hopefully, we'll see a lot less gunning by the CPU (especially with PG's), less last second poorly selected hurls to the basket and no more hot potato with the ball. The offensive AI for all the improvements last year played really stupid offense most of the time.

This makes me so happy to read. Don't know why they got rid of it in 16, but I'm glad we don't have to choose between pre-made shots that are either broken or just ugly.

What exactly does custom jump shots mean ? Are they talking for myplayer? Cause we always been able to change release and base.

I wonder if Dynamic Crowds are in MyLeague/MyGm. It was always weird seing a team thats 9-36, have 100% attendance lol

Also looking for a Dev Blog or something that mentions if injuries are back in this years game( in game injuries)

Leveling up as a team - Amateur team which is limited in their capabilities and customization, then Pro with more abilities and customization, such as different arena features (think HUGE team wall murals which looked incredible). Elite status is next which is very special. Custom importing of pictures is granted at this level, and overall much expanded from last year. Also sponsors which brings in extra VC. Work up from Elite level 1 to Elite level 6.

So my team has to be Elite just to use custom pictures? Out on it.

I'm hoping with get a full in-depth blog on MyLeague (offline & online) & MyGM because as amazing as all of this sounds I have so many questions about virtually every bullet point.

The following options exist when choosing your mode: MyGM, MyLeague, MyLeague Online, Start Today, Season, Playoffs
Start today is a brand new MyLeague option, and it takes the real world stats and standings on the date that you start it and lets you start from that point. So imagine, kids during their holiday break can start their seasons on that date the morning they open their presents. Even when using Start Today, players can continue their franchise for another 79 years.

No questions about this... this is one of my most requested items every year. I'm thrilled it finally made it in.

League expansion allows players to start with 30-36 teams.
You can design your own expansion teams, use pre-built teams, or download team designs from the community.

Are Alternate uniforms available? Also, can you add Alts for a team, but keep them in the same city with their old uniforms?

Expansion and game scheduling provided a challenge, but it's fully and accurately implemented--the game still respects back-to-back games for teams, etc. Any such challenge that may come about through expansion was planned for and dealt with such as menus, power rankings, draft, etc.
Leagues will dynamically expand in future years.


Do you have control over the league expanding? What year the expansion happens? How many teams are added? If you can toggle it on/off after starting your MyLeague?

Total user control over expansion AND contraction.

Can you contract to less than 30?

Expansion draft fully implemented. Each team can protect up to 8 players. There is logic put in place where contenders will keep their team's core in-tact, while a younger team is more likely to expose their aging pricey veterans to the expansion draft.
Expansion can be turned off entirely. You can also contract teams you do not like in MyLeague (there was no mention anything about a reallocation draft, FYI).

You can now start your franchise experience in the offseason before the 2016 draft and free agency, and rewrite the history with new draft picks, and new free agency homes for players like LeBron, Durant, Wade, etc.

This is an amazing addition.

Perhaps one of the most impressive features - Dynamic rule changes. For instance, league meetings will occur during the offseason. An extreme example would be the league voting on using a sudden death OT rule change--first bucket wins. Extreme cases such as this are very rare, we were told. More common would be changes to the shot clock timer, back clock timer, etc.

Can you turn these off or at least do you have the option to override them? I like most rules that are mentioned (Shot Clock, OT rules) as is.

Eventually, every few years, your league's CBA will eventually expire, and then you'll see big changes to the finances within your league. This is a quite unique feature, and something typically only seen in rare sport text simulations such as Out of the Park Baseball's "random league evolution."

This could be a really great feature. Especially if like Johnny Cash mentioned we could we add things like amnesty clause and the stretch provisions. It would be cool if the Stepien Rule is in that way I don't have to keep up with it myself. I'm really interested in what they're doing with this, but I need to know more about this before getting too excited.

You'll now see trades which can include draft pick protections (a 1st rounder, but only if it's not the first three picks) and pick swaps (we'll take either your 2nd in '17 or 2nd in '18)
We can now protect certain picks in the draft, and allow teams to choose options.

This is another one of my most requested features and I'm super pumped about it. I'm wondering how deep this goes though because I know some protection can get pretty crazy.

Advanced rotations--a whole new gameplan that not only allows you to slot your minutes like before, but actually when your players play those minutes and with whom those minutes are played with. Players will typically play in units. This is very deep, but can also be autoed by asking for coach recommendations.

Amazing, this especially comes into play when playing against against the CPU because you don't have to worry about them mass subbing all the time.
Jersey retirements now exist, and logic has been put in place to prevent a player having their jersey retired after a short amount of time on team.


Jersey retirements is awesome. As a Boston fan, I would also love it if we could un-retire jerseys, as well.


Dynamic uniform updates.
Jersey's are no longer tied to rosters? Amazing!


Offseason trading that takes into account many pending factors for a team such as free agency plans, who the team plans to draft, etc.

Cool. I like it.

Easier roster/draft class editing -- can now edit an entire roster at once on one screen, not player by player.
Playoffs totally customizable.
30+ more features such as hot zone customization, new sorting logic, proper re-trading rules added, etc.

All of these are great additions, as well. I'd love to hear more about roster editing and the proper re-trading rules. Does this mean things like Sign and Trades, Waiting Period Rules and Trade Exceptions are in?

80 year online MyLeague, complete with drafts, offseason, progression/regression.
More admin features optionally available such as "keeper years." Other things inspired from traditional fantasy basketball leagues.
Stability and performance continues to be priority #1.

Is MyLeague Online the same as offline, especially as far as contract, drafts, player morale, CBA's etc. I'd like to more about keeper years and other things inspired my fantasy b-ball. However, I'd prefer a normal league that's the same as offline.

Questions in red

Of the things not mentioned my biggest questions regarding MyLeague:
- Do teams now say no to trades in 30 team MyLeagues?
- There's no mention of D-League so I assume that's not in this year, but do we at least have expanded rosters?

2K Fans In September:
"OMFG IT'S GONNA BE THE BEST GAME EVER, LOOK AT THE PROMISES OMFG LOLOLL 111!!!!"

"This game sucks, I'm going back to 2k11, I want a refund".

For that reason...I think I'll reserve my judgement for now.

That's because people latch on to one or two things they don't like and turn it into "this game is broken!" Instead of a more rational "these things should be looked at."

Maybe I'm in the minority but I still play 2k16 to this day and enjoy the hell out of it. Perhaps the first game since 2k11.

Oh and don't forget the August comments "2k hasnt release any news yet, I bet they barely added anything to the game. This will be a glorified roster update. Have fun with 2k16.5!"

Oh yeah, in-games injuries! That's a big one for sure. I was surprised at the lack of them in 2K16 because they were decent enough in prior years. I'd be disappointed if those aren't touched.
