Re: NBA 2K17 Screenshot - Paul George
Graphically its nice. I think they've made graphical improvements this year based on what I've seen (lighting, colours etc.).
But man - Paul George = beef!
He to me is almost the epitome of long and lean. When I think Paul George I certainly don't picture him with a build like this.
A pic a day every day at mid day they say? Keen to see the interest levels after X amount.
But sure, very nice graphics.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Screenshot - Paul George
I guess we're at the peak of the graphical technology 2K will have this generation. Pretty much like where we were around 2K10 last gen. It's not going to get much better. I think that All they can do now is improve body types, faces and things like that. Around 2K11 they started to take away reflections (outside the paint), maybe to clear more resources for the little tweaks every year after.
Anyway, it looks good, didn't expect it to look much better than that. Animations/physics/signature styles - all can make it come to life even more. Hopefully it's part of the changes for 2K17.My Specs:
ZX Spectrum
CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
GPU: Monochrome display
RAM: 48 KB
OS: Sinclair BASICComment

NBA 2K17 Screenshot - Paul George
Same even in the USA trailer he didn't look super big in thedunking scene
Maybe just a tad bigger on the game to real life but not super drastic tho still could use some work thoLast edited by MoneyOvaHuds; 08-15-2016, 07:51 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Screenshot - Paul George
Yeah I give 2k the benefit of the doubt on a lot of things but not this.
From my experience too many players are huge, more than what they need to be.
Harrison Barnes has a neck like a dinosaur
Larry Bird is stocky with short arms
Paul George looks like he's been hanging with the Olympic rowing team, dudes traps are sticking up and his back is all huge.
..but its little difference?
I need to see more because this isn't encouraging from how its been.
Showing me a half a player model spruced up pic doesn't either
If they plan on screen shotting us to death then man...................
Anyway I want to know if we can edit body types, how much ability to we have to edit the player models. Is it the same old edit and CAP feature?
This is the kind of thing that's important in the long run because it would negate what our different eyes see.
I just dont wanna look at another year of Dwight Howard with a Wide Box frame and fat legs with ankles 1 inch long. It looks terrible.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Screenshot - Paul George
It's not just one screenshot.
This isn't the first time George has come into discussion.
Again, I'm a big advocate of improving the player models
I just showed you how he's bigger than last years model.
What reason exactly have they given you to believe its better?
..and I dont mean like his face looks better, im talking about the overall model?Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Screenshot - Paul George
I think the majority of body type issues stem from jerseys being too baggy/not modeled correctly.
Spoiler
This pic has been posted multiple times and you can see how formfitting the USA jersey is to the body. 2K jerseys hover about an inch off of everybody. It makes them look a lot more swole than they actually are.
My take on the body type is that it's fine sizewise. (EDIT: It actually looks kinda like his neck is a bit too short, but that could be the jersey too) The pic comparison isn't really fair since it isn't even comparing the same side of his body. The USA pic has him wearing an arm sleeve which compresses some of the fat on the bicep. However, the definition needs work, as seen in these photos from huds:

I do like the lighting though. That skintone is near perfection.Last edited by Phreezy P; 08-15-2016, 08:38 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Screenshot - Paul George
I don't understand the complexities in changing the player models, but people aren't asking for everyone to be 100% accurate, we just want the average player model looking much more like a basketball player.
I'm sure a lot of players share the same model with tats and faces layered over. Hopefully they can figure out a way to give us thinner models before it ships
Oh yea, and props to 2k on that lighting and skin texture. Looks much more photorealistic, like it was in 2k14. Let's just try to nail those player models.Comment

This comparison pic of LBJ from another thread shows that:
Poor jersey fit & lack of muscle definition leads to the illusion that player's are bulkier than they should be. But there's also something going on with the midsection of 2K player models. Everyone is just...wide - only differences are height & maybe shoulder width. No one is "a string bean" as the old heads would say.Comment

And since some people believe MLB The Show 16 is an example of the "correct" way...
