Every possible configuration you could want is now at your fingertips. And I have more features to make the expansion process even easier for you. If creating all of the art assets for the team logo, arena, and uniforms is more than you can handle, I have two alternatives for you. First, we have 10 pre-built fictional franchises (complete with full audio and commentary support) built right in to the game. Pick your favorite one and off you go. Alternatively, you can now download complete team designs from the community in NBA 2K17. For example, if you know that you want your expansion team to be a Seattle Supersonics franchise, you can search through community uploaded team designs and instantly download one right into your new MyGM/MyLEAGUE. It couldn’t be simpler.

WHOA. Game-changer. I didn't expect this for 2K17, not at all. I honestly thought this was a 2K18 item.

With the ability to expand the league to 36 (a perfect number by the way, as there are six divisions in the NBA so 1 expansion team to each division) and to create the team from the ground up, including all its assets, this adds an insane level of depth to MyLeague.

In theory, if I'm reading this right, you could relocate the entire league to entirely different cities ON TOP of the six expansion teams -- at least for PC anyway as those players could relocate as many current teams as they wanted, hopefully those restrictions were lifted for console players.

This is HUGE for MyLeague/Association/Franchise players like myself. I wasn't going to seriously consider a 2K17 buy ... but this changes things.

GREAT news!! I expected a soundtrack release. Hope some of the MyGM/MyLeague issues have been tweaked. Start today return? Playoffs mode return? Niiice. They should of never been omitted in the first place.

For Expansion Teams, you can choose to: 1) Design your own team logo, uniform, and arena from scratch, 2) You can populate your league with a selection of fictional expansion teams we have built from the ground-up (complete with full audio and commentary support), or 3) You can browse Team Designs that other community members have uploaded. With only the press of a button, these Team Designs can easily be downloaded an inserted directly into your league.

I'm not a franchise mode player, but I'm excited for you guys. Could you explain what "Start Today" does for the mode?

You start from the present day of the NBA in real time, so say it was Christmas Day, you'd start your league from then and all the stats/standings up to Christmas would mimic the real life NBA

A little confused about number of teams we can rebrand. Can anyone clarify? If we can rebrand all teams, then we basically have access to NCAA Bball, international, and everything else. Would be so awesome. I just hope our expansions teams can use short shorts and different fit jerseys to replicate classic teams.

If we can re-locate and re-brand the ENTIRE LEAGUE then for me its Day-1 buy! I already cant wait to make a lot of Retro Roster if this is true!!!!

I hope so! If there is no limit, we can basically create everything! Olympic Games, Euroleague retro, current european Leagues like Italian League, Spanish League, of course all the retro NBA Season!!!
