Thanks for the find. Really enjoyable interview to listen to, nice information and gameplay snippets - great to listen to Rob Jones talk about 2K's philosophy/approach to making NBA2K. Also really liked the interviewer; asked a lot of great questions. Game is shaping up to be an all-timer imo

It doesn't sound like it....they probably just worked on crowd logic and reactions but kept the same sounds.Comment

Re: NBA 2K16 Gameplay Video - Rob Jones Interview, Cavs vs. Warriors, Clippers vs. 76
I forget where he said it in this video (UPDATE: from 5:40 - 6:45), but one Rob Jones comment stuck out to me when he talked about the CPU making smarter adjustments and how that mixes with game balance.
He was talking about how smarter defensive AI adjustments take things away from the offensive player, but create opportunities elsewhere, so successful players have to be smart and versatile in their attack, and how this feeds balance.
The he said something interesting, He contrasted this with previous years where he said they didn't have this capacity so to keep game balance they just made the game a little harder, and how this for a user/player is not fun.
I've never heard 2k say it that openly in that way before.
The way they made the game harder was mostly through the momentum system, how last year it became painfully obvious that momentum would swing and suddenly as a player/user you're losing dice rolls under the hood - sometimes so improbably that the animations to support those dice roll losses broke physics badly and led to absurd gameplay visual outcomes.
This is what I believe was behind all that stuff about comeback codes and whatnot. While Beluba was clear there was no comeback logic in the game, he was also clear that momentum happens, and the momentum logic probably created an artificial ebb and flow to user success probabilities that created game balance in a way that covered up holes in the game.
So this will be interesting to see how momentum is implemented this year, now that balance is achieved in another, more true to basketball way, with CPU AI and adjustments.
Will it be as pronounced this year? Less pronounced? Will we as players feel more like, if we get beat, we get beat by great players or teams playing well, or will we feel we get beat by the game doing some under the hood voodoo to nerf us?
I'll be curious to see.Last edited by LorenzoDC; 09-16-2015, 01:59 PM.Comment

Shakedown noted this in the OKC v. NO posted video of the crowd getting into the action with feet stomps and claps and you visually seem them getting into it as well.

Best vid so far. So many interesting tidbits. They have a truck which goes to cities to scan players, they scanned 2-3 cheerleader body types.
Passing looks way better, there is variation. I also think this is the first vid when we can see how differently the ball clangs off of the rim.
Generally, the game feels FREE to me. Didn't notice any forcefields.
There are alot of new animations/interactions going on, both during gameplay and stoppages. Great replay angles, interviews and DEFENSE.
I think I'm going to preorderNBAComment
