Re: NBA 2K16 Screenshot of Kevin Durant (Overall Rating 91)
It's all about the legs. This is what separates KD/Davis from most other players. Their lankiness below the neck.Comment

What did they take down from last year? Can someone explain this "compared to the all-time greats thing" for ratings?
LeBron IS an all time great and his rating dropped when compared to other all-time greats. Are they going to decrease the ratings of Jordan, Oscar, Bird, Magic, Malone, Russell, Shaq, Wilt, Hakeem too? Or am I not understanding this?
Yes Lebron may well be an all time great, but a lot of that is to do with his size, speed for his size and his IQ. He's an unspectacular shooter from 2....average at best from 3 and hes declining athletically theses days.
What I believe the rating system will mean is that across the modes, a 99 in any attribute means that you are the best at that particular thing in the history of the game....which is a lot better than a whole bunch of players maxing out simply because there is no more room to go with the stats (apart from Myplayer I cant speak for that mode - as far as we know ppl could still buy their way to 99 on that...). The obvious benefit is with MyTeam but it makes sense for the ratings to be universal across the modes so you can relate to the numbers across the modes.Comment

I really don't understand all the negative backlash about the new rating system. It basically means that the rating system is based upon the greatest ever at any one thing instead of the current generation of players.

I believe Ronnie said that 6 current day players are 90+ however. If that's the case, and the way they are rating these players is in scale with all-time players, I am really curious who is rated above KD. Because despite last season, its Lebron and him then everyone else as far as best in the league.Comment

Right. He is a bit larger these days...the upper body was clearly scanned. It's the legs that will be the test. With guys like him and Wiggins(esp Wiggins), it's not going to look right if they don't capture the legs.Comment

I like the idea of the rating system...curious to see how it pans out overall and more importantly, how the game/players play as a result.
