more contextual animations are almost always a good thing - as long as the animations are implemented properly, are responsive, and don't hamper user control. seeing how well 2k handled the animations in 2k15, i'm not too worried.

Could not agree with you more Dream. U have to practice the moves to pull them off. The hook shot is easily contested when u shoot it posting someone straight up. U have to do a setup move before you pull it off. Like a shoulder to the chest or the should fake then do the hook immediately after to have the post player disengaged. The post play is legit this year and is only going to get better.
For those asking about strips/defense, I have spoken with the defense team regarding big man strips. Happens too frequently imo, and that's a convo we've been having for a while now as well. The post-game should be very rewarding for those that master it - and I know the gameplay team will continue to improve upon that.Comment

I agree wholeheartedly. Really shows up in head-2-head/Team Up games too.

Blake's post up game is extremely ugly but its also extremely effective as well. Would you choose a jumpshot that looks nice but goes in at a 40% clip or an ugly jumpshot that goes in 55% of the time?Comment

Re: The Post-Up Game Is Getting Some Animation Love in NBA 2K16
no need to swoop in and save Blake. I specifically mentioned his footwork.Comment

I'd also like to see a nice post up up-and-under move or Boris Diaw's "cream shake" maneuver. They also need to add a shimmy shot that leads to a smooth hook shot animation and not just a fadeaway shot. We could use a plethora of new moves and animations in the low post, maybe even bunched into package to represent different styles of low post scorers.
Last but not least, a lot of the fadeaway animations need to be re-done because they've slowly gotten worse over time.

man oh man. If i could dominate with Shaq like that, i would have a blast. Dont think i could do anything like that since 2k13. And even that fell very short.Comment

I hate how a shooting foul is called most of the time on defense in the post.

I love number 7 the up and under into a dunk he does on luc longley which is impossible to do on 2k15. Number 5 was sexy as well back down into a turn around dunk on Yao, get chills when the commentator yells out "O'Neill strong!" . Like someone else said would love to be able to dominate the post physically like this, would have so much fun.Comment

Re: The Post-Up Game Is Getting Some Animation Love in NBA 2K16
That Shaq aggressive backdown then step through and dunk is something you can't perform in 2K. I just want signature post game with appropriate defensive counters and probably some fatigue effect so that moves can't be cheesed. What I am saying is don't just add animations that can't be stopped.
Shaq's aggressive backdown with the force he used has not been seen again in the NBA because there hasn't been a player that big and that strong since he retired. I think a lot of them would be offensive fouls in today's NBA. The game is just called very different from the 90's and early 2000's
I also want to add that please pay attention to the success rate of the post.
Al Jefferson has the best post game by far in the NBA but he only shoots 47% on post ups
Cousins who can be dominant at times and has some moves only shoots 43% on post ups not really efficient overall.
Dwight Howard has a basic post game shoots 43.5%
So all I am saying is I want signature post shots that reflect close to real life success %'s. Looking at youtube videos shows highlights and shows what go to moves they have in their arsenal so that you can make or select signature shots.
NBA.com has a new feature where you can view all shots by say shots taken in the paint for the whole season. You can get there by sorting a player stats by Misc
Al Jefferson:
He needs those signature one hand pump fakes and flip shots. He is the only one that uses it like that.
Dwight Howard:
Cousins:

How about Timmy? Most of his common post moves are absent from the game. You can perform some facsimile of some of them, but that's not enough. The game should have the moves of one of the GOAT big men to ever play the sport.Check out my WWE2K19 Universe Dynasty - "The Monday Night Wars...REIGNITED" WCW vs. WWE vs. ECWComment

Dwight:
Face up, shoulder shake to running hook either hand, sig drop step
M. Gasol
Sweeping running hooks missing and probably a sig post fade.
Zbo
Really needs sig post hooks that have him barely getting off the ground with a high release. It is go to move in the post. He needs a sig face up jab step it is how he gets his jumper off
Al Jefferson:
One hand ball fakes from face up very signature. He has a ball fake where he lifts one leg up to get someone to jump. Sig push shots high release, and jump hooks. He uses the push one hand release alot in the post. It like a combo hook combo push shot, combo floater. It should be his default hook shot. Now he has to drop step and all that.
At most we are talking about 40 guys needs some sig attention at least current playersComment
