Super excited for this game. Haven't bought a golf game in years, but this makes me want to return.

Re: The Golf Club Hands-On (Xbox One, PlayStation 4)
Are you guys at all concerned about all the things missing from the game given that they are already close to console release? (submitted to Sony/MS at this point)
There's no weather, no course condition settings, no preferences for any of the camera swooping and zooming, still lots of "interesting" ball physics at times...
...They sure are banking a TON on "fixing it with patches later" (by their own admission in their forums).
Maybe that works well for PC games, but it seems like an odd approach to a console release that will get reviewed for "what it is" at the time of release.
I wonder if they need the money from sales at this point or something maybe?Comment

Yes it is! That's the beauty of the game. I know the PC guys have been making courses already. Also, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this cross-platform course creator?Moderator

Yeah this is what I've read. Because the course creator creates courses by mathematics, cross platform course sharing is possible as each course is basically a unique set of numbers, not code or graphical assets.Hating Collingwood and umpires since 1979Comment

Re: The Golf Club Hands-On (Xbox One, PlayStation 4)
this is a rare sports title that doesnt need to come out every year. with that, they can make improvements as we move along as long as the core release is solid. sure it wont be perfect at first, but with the course creator and cross platform capability, it will be the social experience that the devs are banking on upfront.
Lots and lots of things need tweaking, especially the ball physics in a variety of scenarios as well as the chipping animation (which is simply wrong and bad).
I guess I'm concerned they are trying to launch without such core features as the simple ability to pick your conditions - The weather and conditions are literally tied permanently to each course for the foreseeable future.Comment

The fact it's $35 on steam for early access and they have to pay MS and Sony to put it on those systems. I bet it will be $50-$60.
Its one of my favorite games on steam... I was hoping there would be an OS tour but havent found anything.Beavers|Red Sox|Buccaneers|NBA HoopsComment

The Golf Club is classified as an ID@Xbox game, so I'm thinking HBS will get something of a break on the license fee. I'll be shocked if it's more than $39.99 on the XB1. It probably falls under similar circumstances on the PS4, but I don't know Sony's structure for independent developers as well as Microsofts.Duke Football?
