As for the attendance issues at the ballpark, the way South Florida sports fans are, the location will definitely not be a detriment to attendance. Attendance is low now because we are such a bandwagon town, the rebuilding Marlins are getting the least attention behind the bubbling hot Miami Heat. When the Marlins are consistently hot again, the fans will come out regardless of location. Ive seen it happen countless times. Just last year, even with our poor season I saw an increase in attendance and energy/atmosphere just in Jose Fernandez's starts alone. It was like a whole different crowd when he was on the mound. Miami has its attendance issues but the ballpark site isn't the reason for it.

This is pretty accurate, I mean just look at the attendance for their playoffs games in it's history. They packed an entire football stadium to see them play. I personally loved the new stadium in person as it finally felt like an actual baseball place, green walls are less of an eye sore in person and well the statue just ignore lol.

Did they forget the White Sox? You want a challenge? Trying working with them. 99 losses last year. Worst offense in baseball. Bottom of the rankings when it comes to farm systems.

I'm surprised CWS hasn't come up more often in this thread...

Sale is the only real trade-able asset and along with the issues mentioned above, I'm thinking it'll be quite the challenge...

Those realities, coupled with the fact that I've never played as that club before makes this my "most likely" so far, by far...



I'll probably play all Quintana's starts, (sim the rest) while trying to develop (and possibly build around) Abreu...

I'll be doing a franchise with the yankees as usual but I might try one with the cubs. Lots of good young position players, but just need to boost up the pitching. Plus playing in wrigley is always fun.

I'll be doing the Rangers as usual. Good win now team with a decent farm system (#9 in BP and #13 on ESPN)

I'm going to be doing my Reds as usual, but I will also roll with the Diamondbacks as well. I love Arizona, especially with this cold winter lol. But the Reds, let's see if we can bring back the Big Red Machine!

Man, this carry over franchise feature is going to be epic!!! The fact that we can now play every game of every season without having to start over in future iterations is magical. I think people are going to be more connected to their franchise as you will now have to live and die with every decision.

I have a question for all you, how games in a season do you usually play in franchise mode?

I play 1 game and sim the next 2. end up playing 54 games simming 108. playoffs I play all games.

They essentially are, but I would argue that the Cubs have a better minor league system than the Astros (I am biased as a Cubs fan) and therefore would be easier to turn around in The Show. Also the Astros likely got the nod from a lot of people simply by virtue of finishing last in the majors for the last 3 years (with a decent likelihood of doing so again this year as well).

Very similar to what I do. I play 1 game in each series then all playoff games.

After years of using the Red Sox and playing in the American League, I want to take on the task of a NL team rebuild. My three choices are the Marlins, Cubs, or Padres. They all have some interesting points of contention to be chosen (Cubs, 1908...Padres have never won a WS, Miami is in shambles), but I know the Marlins and Cubs have decent farm systems with a core of young kids that could really contribute in the near future (bats for the Cubs, arms for the Marlins). Not really sure what San Diego has on the farm, I haven't looked too much into them yet. I'm getting it for PS4 so I have a while before I have to make a final decision.
