Re: NBA Live 14 Has Arrived, Post Your Impressions Here
I just tried abusing the hop step/euro step against the computer, and looks like it's just as effective offline as it is online.
All you need to do is tap Triangle anywhere near the lane and it's basically an instantaneous "get an open runner" button.
It doesn't seem to matter what the matchup is, as I was able to do it with clumsy centers and power forwards. And I have yet to see the move lead to a travel, charge or turnover. It's pretty much a fool-proof open shot any time you press triangle.

The game does some things right, like the presentation. Also it's worth noting that EA did manage to secure the rights for Madison Square Garden & TD Garden. Don't know how that works. But a nice little touch nonetheless. My 2 biggest complaints are not having the ability to view a replay via a replay option in the menu & the lack of a shot stick.Comment

I plan on later tonight. I'll see if I can post more. Wanted to try online, but it seems like it's a mess with regards to lag and what not.Moderator

Re: NBA Live 14 Has Arrived, Post Your Impressions Here
Bad news for people who prefer to play basketball games from the overhead camera:
Both the baseline high and baseline low cameras are incredibly choppy and run at what seems like 15-30 frames per second. They are pretty much unplayable due to all the stuttering. It reminds me of playing Goldeneye 007 split screen on the Nintendo 64.
The two side-to-side broadcast cameras run at a steady 60 frames per second. Not sure what is causing the discrepancy in performance.Comment

Commentary is meh.
Breen and JVG have their moments but I find myself blocking them out and forgetting they're even talking more times than not.
Playing against the Heat and they ran a few plays, swinging the ball around(like they do in real life)but most of the time, it was "Pass the ball to Lebron, get out the way and watch him attack the basket". How long do we have to wait before this Synergy DNA deal is up and running? Thought it would be go to the day of release? And it's not like they don't have enough info to use considering the real season is about 3 week old.#RespectTheCultureComment

Controls take a while to get used to
seems like a mix of Live 10 and Elite
very guard oriented, once you get your defended on his heels he is at your
mercy
post game needs depth or I just don't know the moves yet
the hop step/euro step is pretty effective
you have to call play to get the players to move around/ did notice a
setting somewhere for auto motion, but I like the control calling plays
defense also takes some getting used to
the live moments are very dope
only thing missing is teamplay and I would be happy.
some funky animations at times but live always had those so no big dealComment

Re: NBA Live 14 Has Arrived, Post Your Impressions Here
I don't understand why they chose not to include online team play. That was the one area where Live could have beaten 2K badly. All they had to do was copy over the club system from FIFA or NHL.
5 vs. 5 online team play was the best mode in NBA Live 10 and they chose to keep it out of this game for some reason.Comment
