Some thoughts on the demo after playing 20+ matches on top player.
Positives
- Animations across the board have improved.
- Response time in the midfield is good, but still suspect on set pieces.
- Improved AI attacking intelligence
- Goal Variation
- ball speed and player speed feel just right
- GKs have improved. They are real weak on cutbacks though. It`s a goal 9/10 times. Will be abused online I`m sure
Negatives
- commentary is stale!
- arrow % system is still unrealistic.
- atmosphere is lacking
- some faces are absolutely dreadful. Rafael for example
- lack of fouls
It looks like it will be the pc version again for me this year. I tried it last year with all the mods (kits, faces, sounds, pitches, boots,) and can`t go back to the console version.Comment

OMG LOL I was playing against France and Joe Hart made this amazing save. I pushed the wrong button and gave the ball away to Ribery. He then took a powerful shot from outside the box and Hart was like 'meh'. Like a boss.

I've been playing on Top Player for the past few days and it's been a lot of fun. I tried Super Star as well, but it seemed like they were pressing me too aggressively the whole game, so I knocked it back down a level. At least for now anyway.
One thing I'm liking about 14 is that the CPU through balls have been toned down a lot since last year. I used to give up a ton of goals because of that, but this year the CPU has to build their attacks more and work for their goals. Defending is a lot less frustrating than it was in 13.
These short halves are such a tease, but the game is very enjoyable.Comment

First 20 minutes of Master League.

Doesn't seem that much has changed, but they removed the manager creation and press conference crap, thankfully.Comment

Re: PES 2014 Demo Available Now For 360, PS3 - Post Your Impressions
After playing the demo for a few days, here are my thoughts.
I have usually been a fifa guy, but always gave PES a chance. This year, I am buying it over fifa. Yes fifa has the swagger, and popularity with all of it's licensing, but it is turning into the COD of sports games (popular every year no matter what). I did not notice enough on fifa to impress me.
The PES demo, my jaw dropped.
The player models look 10 times better than Fifa's
It feels so nautral and real, they nailed it in terms of collisions, ball physics, movement. Yes there are some derp moments where the keeper should of saved it, but all in all, It feels great, and I can't wait for release to mess around with the gameplay settings of the game. The graphics look great, hopefully those slow, cut scenes with stuttering are fixed, and some faces get updated.
14 gives me excitement when I am playing, I don't really feel that with Fifa anymore.Comment

Re: PES 2014 Demo Available Now For 360, PS3 - Post Your Impressions
FIFA 13 was a great game. After initially purchasing PES, I switched over to it later in the year and still play it to this day. That said, this year's game (PES) has a very organic and realistic feel to it.
It's not as responsive as FIFA 14, but in a way, that adds a weight and feel that has never been duplicated in any other sports game. I'm in a weird predicament. I still really enjoy the product that EA put out there. The FIFA demo feels a lot more action packed and arcady, but PES is something special this year. The computer AI is splended and the ball physics are wonderful.
I've never been a fan of buying both games, but FIFA has the licenses and good gameplay with sliders. PES has the realistic, organic feel that is more of a simulation. I could end up waiting and grabbing both. Am I crazy? Perhaps, but what a great predicament we soccer fans find ourselves in with video games.Comment

Re: PES 2014 Demo Available Now For 360, PS3 - Post Your Impressions
My .02. I've been a PES fan since PES3, it was the first one that I bought for the PC. So I downloaded the PS3 version, and have to echo those who say the thing was just so goddamned unresponsive. It already had 2 strikes going against it with the lack of a stadium editor and no weather (plus EA bloodied them up, figuratively with the exclusivity of Spanish sides). And no PS4 release. I'm used to having a choice to play in nearly 70 stadia and now I only have 20?
Somebody pull me off the ledge and say this is a game worth buying when I have PES13 PC still revved up and giving me joy.Comment
