This is starting to look really good. I know it was only a tiny look but the player model looks a lot better compared to past Live iterations and the cloth effect seems to be fixed with next gen (thank God). I can't wait to see more. I'm actually holding off on pre-ordering both just so I can check the reviews and obviously so I can try out the demos and see which one I have a better feel for. But this may end up being a lot closer contest than I originally thought, maybe not with sales since 2k is such a household name now, but as far as quality, it looks like EA is finally stepping up to the plate! Can't wait to see some videos from Gamescom.NBA

Exactly. No whistle?
I think the game deserves a look. It has me more excited about Ignite..across the board. I just hope, like many have said, that the actual team vs team gameplay is there. There are so many things beyond the thickness of a guy's leg that need to be nailed down.Last edited by DaveDQ; 07-25-2013, 02:37 PM.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

Looks good to me. I could care less whether lip movement synced up with the dialouge well as I would not be playing at an angle that would make that visible. Good to see EA taking basketball seriously after 3-4 years of pathetic bball attempts and non-releases. 2k has comp again it appears.EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

I'm counting on live being #1 next gen. EA's ego has been completely crushed last gen and they have a lot to prove. Sorta like a short man syndrome. I believe because the company is way too big to continue to fail.MegatronComment

The calves are a bit big but its much better than stick figures. I'm not gonna hate on the graphics. But hopefully you won't be able to double dribble without the ref calling it.Comment

Wouldn't really be my choice for a cover but certainly not a bad choice either. Trailer still doesn't excite me I really want to see some 5 on 5 gameplay. In the end trailers, screenshots, and the like have never excited me that much it all has to do with what the actual game is going to look like when I play it.NCAA: Kentucky Wildcats
MLB: Atlanta Braves

1. Lebron talking to Lebron was pre-rendered.
2. Kobe,Metta World Peace, Steve Blake, Dwight Howard, Ray Allen, and Pau Gasol were all there in the 2K trailer, it wasn't just 1 player on the court like lives.
3. They showed actual gameplay features like Lebron dunking, celebrating, stealing the ball in the 2K trailer.
And no I'm not a "2K fanboy", I'd actually like to see Live get some more fair treatment.Last edited by MavsManiac4Life; 07-25-2013, 04:10 PM.Comment

Re: Kyrie Irving is Cover Athlete For NBA Live 14, Cover Art and In-Game Footage Trai
Really liking the look of the game so far. Even though we've been getting it in bits and pieces, it's looking more and more like it's worthy of purchase.
Graphically, it's on point. I like how the fingers seem to conform to the ball, as well as the wrinkles in the jersey/shorts and the cloth movement in general. Plus, the jerseys are actually on the shoulders, not floating.
Also, in case no one noticed, the accessory colors/setups look to be correct.
Also while the calf muscles DO look kinda big, I think it's the kneepads that make them look that way. The "fabric" outside the pads seem to be/look thicker than they actually are - it should fit skin-tight with the exception of the pad (obviously) and you can tell in the footage they do not. I believe that's why they look big.
But a BIG + for me is that Kyrie doesn't look too thin, or like a body builder (2K's current-gen models all have that look). If you compare the model shown to RL pictures of Kyrie, it's actually pretty close.
Overall it looks promising. I still will wait for 5-on-5 gameplay (and the Association, etc. modes) before deciding but for the first time in a while Live actually looks pretty good. At least, IMO...Comment
