Yes, one can hope for Friday, but I'm guessing Tuesday next week.

Assuming they actually fixed the AI issues to make it enjoyable.

Re: NASCAR The Game: Inside Line Patch Expected Later This Month, Details Included

i had the last nascar the game title, and was greatly disappointed by it. when it was working fine, which was rarely, i enjoyed the gameplay quite a bit. the graphics i thought were okay at best, but everything else was nice.

however, online play was nonexistent and impossible (on ps3) to get through a race without serious issues when one actually appeared. the AI was terrible at times and at other times either totally passive or way too aggressive. there were bugs under caution and pitting and all over the place to be honest. i also waited for all the patches, but finally after about a year of having the game i gave up and sold it.

i really wanted to try this game out and now that i can get it for ~$34 used i was wondering if the patched up version of this version is worth a shot? are a lot of the bugs finally addressed? do they have the 2013 car by any chance?

thanks for any information. i could go back through the thread but it's pretty long and was hoping for a quick reply from someone.

If you don't want to read the whole thread, I'll give you a cliff's notes version.

Online is still hosed, from what I hear. If that's your objective, you should stay way.

Offline AI is hosed if you run any races that require pit stops. If you just pick up and race with short races and want to bang with the AI and have some fun, it might be worth the price. I'm still hanging onto it to see what this last patch fixes, but right now the only way I can even stomach driving it is offline, in short sprint races.

Yeah, offline the issue is that the AI cars drive like they think they're the only car on the track. Coming out of the pits they try and merge into the racing line without first getting up to speed and cause wrecks. If racing with cautions off (as I do) and someone gets spun out they try getting right back in the racing groove without getting up to speed (or even getting going in the right direction for that matter at times) and cause even more wrecks. Often times these wrecks will just keep propagating around the track until someone gets flipped causing a red flag to come out.

this type of thing is the basic reason i sold the old game. i liked the sprint type races, or the ones with no tire/fuel consumption so i could run like 40-50 laps and bang it out with the AI. i enjoyed that, but really wanted a longer race experience.

pretty sure i'm gonna get f1 2013 because i've been craving another f1 game, i played the first one on ps3 and liked it a lot just didn't put in a lot of time on it.

I'm hoping the patch solves the AI pitting issue so I can get back to races with pit stops, too.

F1 2012 is outstanding.

Patch Update:
The Xbox patch is now available and will automatically download next time you run your copy of the game whilst being connected to Xbox Live. The free update will begin to download when the game starts.

Look for the DLC shortly after Easter!
