NBA 2K13 Review (360/PS3)

I would give it a solid 8.7 for sure...but not a 9.5. Still the ocassional weird animation or the force field between their hands and the ball. But, with the right sliders, the gameplay could be amazing. The crowd is still whack, doesn't know how to react properly. No player sweat or player introduction before the games, and the fact they omitted some important legends (Kareem, Dr. J, C Webb, etc) as well as the 92-93 Suns (which due to the amount of people trying to create that team I would say most people would like to see them in the game) didn't help my review. Also would like to see different accessory options either for free or for VC credit for players like goggles, glasses, different types of socks, etc., tighter uniforms on the players and better detailed legend courts. The '86 Celtics court looks pathetic. NO detail to the parquet floor. So, definitely a high 8...but not quite in the 9's yet.

definitely not 9.5 worhty. fun factor isn't that high. my honest opinion this game is about a 9.0 or just under. Plays a lot like NBA Live with the new controls. That isn't bad but I don't see 9.5 in this game and I've spent some time on it.

Gameplay wise it's the best game ever. No problems there at all. However, there are some problems such as freezing, very hard to gain VC, and missing legends. However, I still give the game a solid nine. Best gameplay of any basketball game ever.

the only reason i wld give it the best 2k is because of the stuff they took for EA games if wasnt for those additions i wld have kept playing 2k12 or 11

I think compared to the other sports games out there it's probably the best one. I tend to think most of these review scores are too high though. Is 2k13 the best basketball game ever? I would say yes. Is it a 9.5? no.... I'm one of those people who don't think any of these sports games deserve over an 8 though. They are all pretty good. 9.5 should be reserved for some of hte original sports games that were just new and wow. all these games are kind of average after a while.

Is 2k13 awesome and nearly perfect? Probably. But does it do anything that makes me think omg 9.5 this game is a revolution and so awesome? no.

I think if a game is going to be a 9.5 it has to be both nearly perfect and revolutionary.

I would give the gameplay itself a 9, but until the crazy amount of glitches are solved it cant be higher than a 7.5. Once the glitches clear up I will completely agree with this review.

Again, they forgot to address the problems the game has that should absolutely affect a game score and review summary. OS< please consider giving 2nd opinons also and maybe mention a blog after or followup addressing issues people are having. And shouldn't bugs and glitches affect a game score? 9.5 still seems a bit generous. And did you forget to mention the missing legends? Mind you, most fans know this already, but shouldn't you mention the details also?

its a great game, but to 9.5 it was to be revolutionary and brings something new to the table, 2k13 just kinda stays the same, problems in 2k13 were in previous 2k games. 2k sports needs to look at the op wishlist and give us what we want!!!! overall 2k13 is solid but not groundbreaking. 9.0/10

Again, too many bugs, glitches and omissions across the whole game to be considered a 9.5 ... is it the best 2k game ? ... most probably ... but by no means a 9.5 !

P.S:
True to be told, online has indeed been better than ... ever ... in terms of stability !

"OMG! This game is like an 8.7, not a 9.5" comments are exactly why Kotaku stopped giving rating scores. I agree with the reviewer. This game is tons better than last year. Good review.

The game as far as gameplay and animations added IS a 9.5.
The game as far as the successful implementation of both new gameplay and animations added is an 8.0
And the game as far as representing the NBA is a 6.0.

Though I can not go back to 2k12 or 11 or 10....
That says ALOT
