Isn't free skate just practice 1-on-1 with the goalie? They've had this since 08 (07?). It's just not implemented as well as FIFA's. You actually have to go into the mode.

I think they are adding it to the demo so people can get a feel for the skating.

Yes, you just go into edit pro and hit start. Hopefully it's as good as FIFA's. I love practicing my free kicks in free roam.

Why a day later for us PS3 guys?

The only place that the demo release date is explicitly clear is on the NHL 13 Facebook page where it is posted:

"#NHL13Demo Available August 21, 2012 (Aug.22 on PSN in Europe)! Read the NHL 13 Demo blog: http://bit.ly/R0qtcS"

From this, I would assume that the North American release of the demo is August 21 for both consoles.

Do people actually play HUT mode, I tried it out about 2 weeks ago for the first time and now I cant stop playing.

I'm still playing HUT in NHL 11. I like it, but it seems I'm in the minority. I've enjoyed it since FIFA 10, and it's a fun different way to manage a team.

played it for about a month in NHL 11 and then got turned off from it. Never went back. Never care to. I still have my first HUT pack to "open"

I liked it until my Mikael Granlund card just disappeared. That was it for me.

The Madden demo is coming out today on PSN (XBOX is out already). I don't see why it would come out on Wednesday of next week.

The free skate aspect is really neat. Really gives a nice chance to test the new skating out.

So next Weds instead of Tues for us 3ers. Lol. Just felt like laughing at that but I think this may be the NHL that makes me purchase it for the first time in 2 console generations. I think my boy Bart Scott from my NY Jets said it best - CAN'T WAIT!

It's possibly shaping up to be a great sports gaming season for me with this, Madden 13 and NBA 2K13....and maybe even FIFA 13.

I don't suppose it is against any kind of terms if I record some of my games and post them on YouTube is it? I have an HD PVR and I want to play around with recording some NHL games before the retail version drops.

Don't think so, It's not like beta testing an MMO where you're electronically signing an NDA.

I'm still playing HUT in NHL 11. I like it, but it seems I'm in the minority. I've enjoyed it since FIFA 10, and it's a fun different way to manage a team.

I'm also a fan, more so in NHL then FIFA. It's fun getting a team together and seeing what you can do to others who also picked their team.

Disappointed that there won't be sliders in the demo. Hopefully when the game rolls around they work a little more effectively then they have in the past.

Yep Dispatch....I'm also hoping the sliders are all, very effective this year.

When I get the retail game, the ease of reception slider will be set to zero as my first lab test.
