The closer you come in replicating the real thing the more obvious and noticable little flaws get.
Remembering old NBA Live games of 2000 and before, nobody would have dared to demand realistic box outs there or was looking for 100% accurate league stats or 100% reasonable CPU trades. Demanding such things would just have seemed foolish back then.
Nowadays games are close enough to the original NBA that people start to realize 'little' things like bad spacing on offense and such.

not fixed!
Fastbreaks do seem easier and smoother. Maybe thats a placebo.

Double teams. no. the CPU still never doubles a hot player. this breaks the game for me. If you really wanted to you could score 100pts with a superstar post scorer. the cpu just doesnt double. There is no counter. no penalty for repeatedly going to the same player and scoring with him.
This directly ties into

Spacing. If the cpu doubled when it should. this would create better spacing.
I dont really have an issue with spacing. as teh cpu does provide help D. which creates spacing. but because they never double. you cant execute fundamental inside outside basketball. why bother when you can simply post, backdown and shoot/score without the threat of a double.

This is the 1st time in 15yrs that I have seriously considered trading in an NBA game.
I try to enjoy this game. I get the itch. go and play a game. but quit before half time in frustration.
The silly blocks that little men can do on big strong guys inside would never happen in reality.
The insane frequency of cpu headfakes and shot fakes off drives inside that EVERY player regardless of skillset does....arghhhh.
But its mainly the lack of CPU double teaming. I cant handle it.
It breaks the game for me.

Can these be fixed with sliders?

LOL those were the days. Honestly, I didn't start caring about little things until I joined OS. Back when I had Live 2000, I just played. Damn you, OS! LOL

We have gotten older and the technology has far advanced that point, remember that was when iverson was in his prime and anybody who called your house knocked you off the internet

Must say, I'm not quite hyped about the PS3 patch impressions. The new found love most are having for the game seems to boil down to one thing; the game is easier.

It seems to happen every year that the gameplay out the box its very good though not perfect and they overcompensate for those who complain the most about it being to difficult(even though there are 5 difficulty levels and sliders), making the game too easy.

If it is easier for the right reasons as in it having a more true to life balance, I can accept that. Often times it doesn't seem that way though, and the game loses some of that edge and excitement it had out the box. We'll see.

You're joking right, Eko? The running line in almost every single impression is that the game now plays more like a real game of bball. The game seems to be easier because the player doesnt have to compensate for things that they would never see on a real court. The difficulty now seems to be tied more to strategy not AI bs. Also, sliders arent an option for everyone. Online players, those who like MP ect. Are you really reading those posts?
