The backcourt featured the incomparable Hal Greer. Yes, at 6'2 he was a bit undersized but he was powerfully built and was the master of the 16 foot jumper. The point guard was Wali Jones who was nothing spectacular, just solid.

Their secret weapon came off the bench, Billy Cunningham. He was vertically quick and his lefty slashes to the hoop were irresistible. And he always had the right answers in the clutch. Dave Gambee was another banger. Larry Costello was strong and played hard.

Power usually triumphs over all and this team ranks highest in that department. In a seven game series between this team and the 96 Bulls, it would come down to a game 7 triple overtime. Who wins? Don't ask me.
Just checked bbref to be sure, as my recollection was that was one of those years when Wilt went off trying to get assists. Sure enough, he averaged almost 8 assists per game, to go with 24 points and 24 boards. That was just a ruthless squad and would be a blast to play in the game.

Very good list, especially my all time favorite team (93 Suns), they should basically be there once they can sign Barkley and they already will have KJ this year, per the DLC. I would like to see all of these teams (probably with the exception of the Cleveland team) and also would like to see another early 90’s team, the Mavericks. I think the team with J-Kidd, Jimmy Jackson and Mashburn would be another fun team to add to the mix…

The Blazers that both collapsed and got robbed against Lakers, loved using them on Dreamcast

The 1992 New York Knicks, one of the best perimeter D's ever. 1993 Suns, 1978 Blazers, 1967 Sixers definitely would be awesome teams to play with too.
Only respectable people deserve respect, you destroyed the game.

Re: Top Missing Teams from the NBA's Greatest Mode

2000-01 Los Angeles Lakers: 15-1 in the playoffs. Young Kobe and dominant, prime Shaq. Greatest Lakers 3-peat team ever.
1997-98 Indiana Pacers: Best team Reggie was on. Imo better than the 2000 team and the '95 team. Had 7'4' Rik Smits, prime Reggie, veteran Chris Mullin and a young Jalen Rose.
2000-01 Philadelphia 76ers: League MVP, Allen Iverson at his apex. The team also had defensive beast, Dikembe Mutombo taking a bit of the load off of him.
1992-93 Phoenix Suns: This team was packed with players but was made famous by Sir Charles Barkley. Kevin Johnson, Dan Majerle, Tom Chambers, Cedric Ceballos were players on the team.
1999-00 Portland Trail Blazers: This year, Portland had players like Rasheed Wallace, Steve Smith, Sabonis and veteran Scottie Pippen. If they didnt choke in Game 7 of the 2000 WCF finals, they could have possibly won a championship.
1999-00 Toronto Raptors: Vince Carter, Half-man, Half-amazing led the Raptors to the playoffs for the first time ever with help from real life cousin, Tracy McGrady.
1966-67 Philadelphia 76ers: The 1967 Sixers is possibly one of the top 5 teams of all time. 7'1' beast Wilt Chamberlain, Hal Greer and Chet Walker ended the Celtics consecutive streak of championships at eight, and the Sixers went on to win the Finals and get Wilt his ring.
1976-77 Portland Trail Blazers: Hippie Bill Walton, in his prime, won the championship for this team against Julius Erving and the Sixers with help from Maurice Lucas
2003-04 Detroit Pistons: This year, coach, Larry Brown continued Chuck Daly's preaching of defense. Result= 2004 NBA Championship

Re: Top Missing Teams from the NBA's Greatest Mode

I think we're seriously missing some stuff if you just look at the nba history landscape.. have to step back a bit look at the bigger picture

                  for example..

                  NBA2k13.. get ready

                  to play..

The Dream Team vs The Re-Deem Team!!

YEA BABY!! of course my money is on the 92 dream team but still..
MJ, Magic, Bird, Mullin, Sir Charles, etc etc vs Kobe, Dwyane, LeBron, etc etc

                  OH BABY HELLS YEAH!!

the only problem with making the dream team is there's no chance in hell you'll ever have an associaiton with them without turning player roles off hahaha you'll have the entire team mad and deservably so because everyone would want more playing time

93-94 Bulls(Let PIP shine on his own)
                          93-94 Knicks(take 95' out)
                          92-93 SuperSonics( vs 92-93 Suns)
93-94 SuperSonics(Kendall Gill was my guy lol. Favorite Supes team & jersey's)
                          87-88 Mavs
                          97-98 or 95 Pacers
                          01 Sixers
                          01 Bucks
                          00 Raptors(V.C & T.Mac)
                          83 Sixers (take 85' out)
                          80 Lakers(take 91' out)
                          84 Celtics
                          94 Warriors
                          95 Rockets
                          00 Lakers
Bonus: 92 Clippers & 00 Hornets(loved this team in CHA. Nothing against N.O)

I could go on & on. A lot of teams I liked didn't win 'chips.
It would be nice if each franchise had a couple classic teams, but
with licensing issues one can only dream.
