      New mechanic.

For joint locks you just tap a button

For chokes you use the stick, however you don't have to shine with it, just follow the marker on the screen.

Oh snap we can upload our highlights from fights.....I love all the little ratings they have in this game like chin rating, hand speed, foot speed, leg rating, heart rating, gut rating, hands range, leg range, etc.

Makes it much easier to determine whats the weak link in a person's armor.

Thanks a lot for letting me know.

I'm a little worried about what i see you've posted for chokes, though...how quickly do I need to move the stick? Sorry to be a pain, but these little details are important if I'm gonna spend the cash on it...Thanks again

So wherever the blue marker shows up in the zone, im supposed to just push my stick in that direction?

Please help because I cannot escape chokes to save my life( literally lol)

Also, with joint submissions its definitely not a button masher. If you mash the button too fast your stamina is gonna go within 1 second. You have to carefully pace yourself, which is what fighters do in real life. Man this game is amazing.
            Lineup:
            PG) Gary Payton
            SG) '95-'96 Michael Jordan
            SF) Sapphire Scottie Pippen
            PF) '95-'96 Dennis Rodman
            C) Hakeem Olajuwon

Better then UFC 2009 ? Yes

Better then UFC 2010 ? Yes

I mean last time I checked in both UFC demos, the cpu went for a lot of takedowns as well. And in the UFC 2010 demo, you couldn't even freaking stop Machida from taking you down.

At least on here, you can stop them from taking you down. You can actually submit the cpu without shining the skin off your palm. Actually escape from a cpu sub attempt.

So putting things in perspective.....this is one hell of a demo. Perfect ? No. But still one hell of a demo that is more fun then both UFC games combined.
This is one of the best sports gaming demos in a while. You get to learn the game and you get to hash it out for a solid amount of time. The only thing I wish they did was add replay uploads like FN4 did in their demo.

I don't like to gush but for a first time effort, this game looks great. And we haven't even touched the online portion yet. I think EA did great with what is their first go.

I'll point out some negatives. The atmosphere is pretty bad. I'm big into presentation and I know it's hard to pull off in a game, but the intros are bland. They seem lifeless. The crowd seems odd too. It would be nice that when I'm in attack mode you really feel the adrenaline of the crowd with people yelling and cheering. I'll attribute some of this to no commentary but the crowd is rough.

There will be things that begin to spell out as I play it more but it's rare that I get a demo and can't wait to play it again. That's what it should do.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

Call me a nitpicker but I had a fight over in Asia and the crowd was still cheering during the fight which rarely happens in Japan. You can hear a pin drop when two fighters are fighting in Japan.

I think it sucks to be honest. The gliding is still there, striking seems unresponsive at best, a lot of the animations are TERRIBLE, I think it will become a transition spamming battle just like UFC 2010, doubles from across the cage are ridiculous, I don't quite understand the grappling but I think pressing 1 button to do a transition is absolutely ********, the graphics look like something you would see in the N64 wrestling games.

I think EA should just stop pretending that they make simulation games, it's clear to me that every single title they come out with is arcade style.

That is completely untrue. Japanese crowds go crazy for a good fight just like everyone else. The only difference is they actually know what's going on so you will hear them cheer for takedowns, guard passes, sub attempts etc etc. Watch Fedor vs Hong Man Choi for example.

Sounds like a agenda to me and I never say that

I don't see how some say striking is unresponsive. I love the fast paced attack opportunity you have when you stun someone.

That's in like every fighting game and I hate it. If you get hit hard enough to where they can't move for 2 seconds and you keep on getting hit, you aren't going to recover. I want pure realism. If I'm playing with Scott Smith and I hit someone flush with a hook to the jaw I don't want to see them get stunned, then I hit them again with another flush power punch and that some how wakes them back up.

I'd love to see realistic flash KO's, but not like UFC 2010 where you just spam 3 elbows and they get dropped.

You rotate in the direction the blue marker is moving to. It constantly switches from clockwise to counter clockwise. And your goal is to be in sync with it.

You can tell by how close you are to it by the size of the circle. the bigger the circle, that means you are in sync and about to escape. The smaller the circle, means you way out of sync and about to get submitted.

Key is to not to spin fast and REALLY pay attention to the blue marker. Because like I said it switches throughout the submission process.
