I used CLASSIC hitting today and there is only one swing button with the LS influence. There isn't a choice for Power/Contact/Defensive.

I did notice that the hitters will use different swing types on their own based on where the ball is pitched and the direction you have the LS pushed.

There were some obvious defensive swings that I saw in the one game that I used Classic.

Just one button (A) with L stick influence. Honestly, without a cursor (which I hope is still in for the final) classic hitting is pretty bad IMO. I saw a lot of the old issues (goofed physics, occasional weird lag) with classic. Not as much as in years past, but it didn't feel near as good as the swing stick.

And this is coming from a guy who hates the swing stick...lol.

EDIT: Also, to address some of the "Doubles are impossible" comments, I haven't seen it. I've hit plenty (more down the line than in the gap though). While I do feel the OF tends to play too far back and close the gaps pretty fast, I don't see it being a big problem as they are certainly attainable.

I also have no issue with hit variety, but hopefully the cursor option is still there because I felt that offered the best hitting experience for 2K9.

Will there be batting practice and defensive practice in the retail version like last year's game had?

Ive had no problems getting doubles. Both down the line and gapers. Had one last night where the ball didnt even reach the wall in right center.

I've hit quite a few gappers... and down the line.

Speaking of down the line, I just hit a regular HR/contact swing with Jeter that hit the foul pole with a nice loud ding... I laughed histerically because of the noise.

The demo is really starting to grow on me.

Anyone else feel that the game isnt that impressive graphically during day games? Theres jaggies everywhere: the pitchers mound, shadows of the players, even the ballpark/stands have jaggies on them. This goes a way a bit at night, but didnt they say fixing the jaggies was a top priority graphically? Seems weird there so prevalent in day games.

Also, after 6 or 7 demo playthroughs, Ive finally decided I dont like the default pitcher cam at all - it makes the pitches look a bit weird. Im going to adjust it alot when i get the full retail version. I liked 2k9's default pitcher camera much better.

                Let's put it this way...

I hated the MLB2K series despite having 2K8 (it was terrible). I went into the demo not looking forward to another baseball game-less summer (since I'm on the 360). After playing the demo, I WANT THE GAME TO BE OUT NOW!

I wanna play a franchise with the Phils right now. :-(

I agree about the jaggies. I've changed every option on my tv... 1080p 120hz... Jaggies shouldn't be nearly this prevelant. Hoping it's just to reduce the size of the demo...

I'm gonna chalk it up to the demo too, but I'm just curious because people think the game looks really good. I think it looks okay, definitely better than 2k9 but its still not that great

The size of the demo has no correlation with whether antialiasing is used or not. The developers probably didn't enable AA because it would decrease the FPS.

Anybody else had problems downloading the demo? I will go to download it, it goes to one percent, then stops, and said that it couldn't be completed and I always get status code: 80070570 ?

I have only gotten to play two games so far, and like most people I came in with low expectations. I won't lie, I am very impressed with what this demo has displayed. I like the new pitching aspects, and I am getting used to the batting. I have always been a button guy, but I am liking what the swing stick is bringing to the party. I haven't scored a run and neither has the computer yet, but I assume it is on rookie or so. I can't wait to received the game. After the demo I went on ebgames and pre-order the game with free overnight delievery. Can't beat that!

While this is true, there were rumors that the demo for The Show is fom a December build. There's no reason to believe that 2K has a much later build than that as well, so hopefully they did a lot of last-minute tweaking these past couple of months when it comes to the visuals.
