Can you try and take a 4th extra step (4 pulls of the trigger) and see if it draws an automatic thow every time. Maybe try the same scenario with Johnson and Jeter.

Basically last year, once you clicked the L trigger the 4th time, the computer would throw over..they would litterally do it 100 times in a row with no change in outcome. Just trying to see if this has changed to become less automatic.

Another thing I would like to ad is the defensive swing mechanic is pretty awesome, this looks quite fluent. How can they not implement a check swing though? Are they really going to patch that in or is this another empty promise?

I really like this a lot also. It adds a new dimension to the hitting battling back when you're down in the count. The contact swing is really good for 1 and 2 hitters that don't have power or hitters late in the batting order.

I think so. Someone said something about a patch on release date for this. I was thinking about how they are going to implement it. I hope that they make it a press of the button, it feels so natural. If they make it tied to the stick, i think it will be pretty much useless like it has been in the past.

I would atleast try downloading the demo because the vids don't really do it justice. It definetly doesn't feel or play too arcadish. The gameplay is actually very smooth for the most part. There are some animations they could do without especially in the infield. They could also pay more attention to the animations after a play is over, but there is nothing game breaking with the way it is now.

This seems to be my primary concern at the moment...at one point my cursor was shaking which made things a tad more difficult but there doesn't seem to be very much "randomness" to the pitches. This is tough one to gauge because it's only 3 innings and we're playing with good pitchers for the most part. Perhaps there's a slider in the retail game to make things tougher for pitchers? If 2k is good at anything it's good at providing sliders to tweak the game...

I hate seeing the wrong hat on players... I know, I've been pretty vocal about that, and it probably seems very petty to a lot of people... I just don't understand why 2K has players in the wrong hats. As soon as the acquisition is completed, ESPN.com or MLB.com has the player in the correct hat. Since 2K has the MLB license, I would assume that they could have every player in the right hat. I guess I just bring this up in case any developers for 2K are reading this... Getting the players in the right hats would do a lot for the presentation, IMO...

My apologies for bringing this up again guys, but it really does bug me.

You will pull the stick back to check your swing.

You would think by now they could find a way to patch in updated pictures. I agree with you totally. I hate wrong hats on guys. Even more so I hate blank silhouettes for fake players. Just show a team logo. (That goes for alot of sports games).

I hated that last year as well... Luckily for us, they fixed the blank silhouette this year, but the hat problem still remains. I just think if you have the updated photos like MLB.com does, use the MLB License you have and get everything updated. Not doing so makes the game look outdated to me. Pretty nitpicky but damn, it's just a big pet peeve of mine.

Re: Major League Baseball 2K10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (360)

Please excuse my laziness for not reading 20-plus pages if I'm repeating anything already mentioned.

First, the defense seems to be on super assist. Not sure if this is an attempt to overcompensate for last year's numerous problems or not.

For instance, opposing runner on third with two outs. Grounder to first, but I trigger the throw home wanting to see the plate collisions animation. The throw was made to first anyway. I clearly triggered the throw home. Even in the outfield, the fielders seem sort of "out of my hands" with flyballs. There will likely be a slider or option for this, hopefully.

Also, the graphics are dreadful during live play. Fielders are indistinguishable from one another because of the camera distance, causing a last-generation look. Again, hopefully adjustable in the retail release.

I liked how the stadium had a different look at night. Pulled of much better than 2K9. Plus, the batter camera angle was a pleasant surprise. Though I've had a fair share of yearly swings, I'm sure adjsuting to that will be simple.

One final thought. I'm hoping there is better collision detection in regards to homeruns in the retail version. The collision detection seems to be in place on foul balls, but not homeruns (at least from my experience). Wasn't this an issue two releases ago? Seeing a ball fly through a wall really kills any hopes of achieving realism.
