They could also incorporate the NFL Fever, NHL Rivals, NBA Inside Drive teams into the 2K Sports teams. All those games had potential back in the day but just needed some more senior sports talent (2Ksports perfect fit)

2K Sports would also reap the benefits of Microsoft's superior motion capture technology to provide more polished and lifelike animations into their games

And Microsoft could even benefit by now turning NBA 2K basketball into an Xbox 360 exclusive title (if they chose to do so to try and now create a countering sports system seller that directly compete's with Sony's PS3 MLB the Show system seller)

It could be what you call a WIN/WIN situation for BOTH parties and we could also benefit immensely as well
Interesting, but Microsoft doesn't seem to have any interest in putting out first-party sports titles. Not since Inside Drive or whatever that XBox basketball game was. It's really unfortunate for 360 gamers b/c we could use a strong alternative to MLB 2k9, but we don't know what happens behind closed doors...maybe they get leverage with EA by not pissing them off and flooding the market with first-party sports titles to compete with EA's.

now that i had a chance to play this, they need to continue with the series. it really plays a great game of hockey post patch & with original 6 sliders, at least for someone who hasn't played the real thing.

it makes you work for goals and such. there is a place for both hockey games. my bro-in-law loves nhl 10 for the be a pro mode. he doesn't play the single player modes. but i do and the nhl 10 mode was at one point broken so it would not be worth it for me to purchase.

i hope this sticks around because next year could be epic if it does.

I guarantee almost all the people posting who are celebrating nhl2k's apparent demise haven't even played the game.

I know because I use to be in the same boat the last 3 years. I was happy with EA's game and even though friends told me to try out 2k, it just didn't enough for me to go buy another hockey game. I don't know why I eventually bought 2k, maybe the 20 dollar price and the stars aligned the way they did, but I am glad I bought it and tried it out, because it does play a better game of hockey with the right sliders.

As for 2k as a company, I think they are doing well with the NBA series and Grand Theft.

Don't forget about Bioshock and Oblivion. Both of those are 2K games as well. As a company 2K are alot better off then anyone would believe. It's the 2KSports line itself that is in jepordy.

Who's celebrating? A lack of competition isn't going to help either game. And there are many of us that do own both.

the biggest reason and death blow is because of the EASHL.. it's simply the best innovation and best thing going in sports games today... and nothing even comes close... I'm not sure why the other companies haven't caught on but what EA has done with the EASHL is something really special.. they have built entire community base off it

and I'm sure EA makes more money off it's boost pack sales than NHL 2K10 did alone...
