do they plan on fixing the pursuit angles? these are horrible.

Some of them were user controlled (at least the really bad ones).

I was thinking the exact same thing. The Online Co-Op video looked just like Madden 09, I was just about ready to write this game off. But the IGN video looked nice, very nice actually. So one video has guys running with realistic momentum, the other one has Marshawn Lynch "treadmilling" into the endzone and Knowshon making cuts like his knees had ball bearings. Weird.

A couple gripes from the IGN video:

1. WTF was with Jenkins on that blitz, darting past McNabb like a lost little Peewee player? I realize he was user controlled, but I thought the whole procedural awareness was going to have guys looking at their target (in this case, the QB while on the blitz). Looked very unrealistic.

2. As another user mentioned, the strafing looked a bit arcadey (or 09ish).

I dunno...to me...I don't see anything in the video that could convince me this game is any different than Madden 09...It really looks like the same gameplay

Yeah but on the 2nd play, where the wr catches the ball on the crossing route and runs toward the sideline displays horrible defensive pursuit angles by the entire cowboy's defense. When he initially breaks towards the sideline and slightly turns upfield, the two defenders continue to run towards the sideline in a very ncaa 09 like manner...

I guess one of the linebackers is user controlled and probably gets in the way of the other linebacker; but the cornerback completely over-runs the wr and forces him back inside, instead of using the sideline as another defender and forcing the wr to run out of bounds. It's like his field logic is off; the cornerback is playing as if the play is going on in the middle of the field.

If Madden '10 has wide-open gameplay due to the same horrible pursuit angles that ncaa 09 had, then count me out now! Surely the would use the same improvement to pursuit angles that ncaa '10 is using...Right?

I have tons of respect for Ian and his team and I haven't/won't say anything bad about them. Those guys have proven that they REALLY care about making the best football game in the universe. With all that being said, I'm actually a little disappointed after looking at this video. The graphics look phenomenal, but the game just doesn't look very realistic in motion and that RUINS the immersion for me.

The gameplay also LOOKED like the same old Madden with Pro-Tak slapped on (even though I KNOW this isn't the case at all). I don't know, it just didn't move or feel as realistic and as well paced as "other games" do. Again, I know Ian and his team are busting their "bottoms" to put out a great product, so I do hope that I am wrong and that this game is everything we are hoping it will be come launch day....

+1 It just doesn't flow at all like a real game of football.

Also what's with the crowd. It looked more like an NCAA game in that video. Everyone the same color

This has already been asked and answered 100 times he is user controlled, it's just an advertisement video people, get over it already, the sky is not falling...

One other thing, everyone likes to critique the game yet can't even tell a user controlled player from one controlled by the AI, I think this alone brings into question a lot of the other ''alleged'' flaws pointed out in the game.

I think it is looking great, sure there will be some problems however nothing well ever be perfect & for some people to believe it will is hilarious...

Yes. You're correct. I think from now on, everybody that has a negative opinion on the way this game looks should be quiet. That way, Ian and co can have no feedback to work with and we can have a better game without the community help. In actual fact; why don't we close down these forums; there really is no need for them ,as the game will never, as you say, be perfect.

I'm sure it's already been pointed out, but the players don't even have the colored cleats in this video. so it's gotta be from an older build of the game. there's also no way the game will ship with the commentary sounding that bad. the presentation looks fantastic though. i can't wait to see what is shown at E3.
