hmmm. LOL

Fifa has its own challenges which may be tougher, which is that all 22 players need to be in motion for the entire time. and coordinated as a team. as far as technically getting it to work online, shoot, Call of Duty has 18 players online. The new Fifa has 10 on 10, doesn't it?

so it can be done. EA's dev teams just need to work with each other a bit more.

no need. with 5 on 5, you have the QB plus 4 of the other 5 skill positions to choose from. It's more fun on defense of course, and special teams. imagine 4 of your friends and you coming down the field on a kickoff coverage team!

Well it is always good to see more options added to Madden but really was this MORE important than Multiple\Custom camera angles? I would like to see these types of features added after they have completely fixed basic gameplay\presentation elements like multiple camera angles which were working fine last gen

Great feature, I think this will please alot of fans that have been waiting on this feature, Madden is getting greater by the week.But with so many negative comments about the IGN video and this feature, I saw why Ian has said on his twitter page that he will staying away from the online forums till the game is finished. Looks like people ran him off, we got spoiled I guess, some people didn't appreciate what he and his crew the strives they are trying to make with this game, sad.

Is it confirmed to just be one other friend that you can play with? Even if it's only against the CPU, it would be nice to invite at least three other people to play with you.

I am not sure if this has been mentioned, but from the footage, the Punt coverage looked horrible. No one was even near the two coop players to even attempt a block. I was hoping special teams would get some attention this year.

Online co-op is an enormous feature that appears to have finally arrived for the game.

I'm hoping the BIG announcement at E3 is the ability to have Online Franchise, as well as playing online franchise with co-op. I really hope that's the big news, as we now live in the technology age where alot of my friends live outside the state or hours away, and playing online is the only way we can re-connect the old days.

For the college buds who live together, this means nothing to them, but one day it will.

Online Co-op is to me, the biggest feature to have ever hit the madden franchise, short of online franchise, if it's revealed later next week.

I am also hoping that online franchise DOES NOT have a minimum limit of teams that can play. I loved that about NCAA last year. If you only had two players, you could still play through the online franchise mode and that was a very nice addition to the game.

We'll see later next week, but to me, this was a great move in the right direction for the franchise.

And just so Ian knows, Online Co-op was my one and ONLY request for improving the game this year, and man oh man, you delivered.

Here's to hoping my luck continues and Online Franchise is introduced as well...

i'm with you man.. if it's just "2 online vs cpu" that would be even more weak. wow. what a disappointment. i hope that's not true. the whole fun thing about fifa's original 5 on 5 (you didn't need all 5 vs 5, it could be 3 vs 2 or whatever) was that it was completely interactive. real users controlling a bunch of different players makes things soooo much more dynamic and interesting.

- I'm sure the directional control has been tweaked but it looks pretty much as precise as it ever has. Defenders are able to turn twist their bodies and do that "full speed jog" in whatever direction they see fit. Offensive players perhaps slightly less so, but still - overall movement just isn't natural enough
+ Good job distinguishing the stadiums and various playing surfaces
+/- Not sure if it's been confirmed, but if online co-op is only human players versus the cpu then that's not very useful in this day and age. A huge announcement would be cross platform play or something that hasn't been done to date
