Because that is not football. If they want that type of play they can play Blitz. When I was a kid I used to love Super High Impact football and NFL Blitz. But guess why I started playing Madden and Nes play action football? Because it was more like the real thing. It was more about calling plays and executing.

Let me ask you this. What if a person only plays rookie against the A.I. and never decides to play on the higher levels. What do you think will happen when he plays online or against his buddies? He will play the same way the game allowed him to play, learning absolutely nothing. So that is my whole point about the game being fundamentally wrong, EVEN ON ROOKIE!

I hear ya, but their maybe only 1 football game in the house nowadays, and in most households, that game is Madden.

The kids will play against each other on rookie because they like those high scoring games. Those kids aren't franchise or single season players, they either go up against the A.I. or against each other.

I just don't see what the big deal is having a level for novices or kids, besides it's not football. It's can be football on levels higher than rookie.

I'm not dead wrong. I know this was the first year EA got good PR out of sending OSers to Orlando. What I'm saying is that they have had years to read the forums all over the internet, and they still haven't done much with it. What makes you think that they are going to bend over backwards to please eight random people?

lol... this is funny becuase the testers gave so much critical feedback about the past version of the game. So you think the only reason they did it was for good PR and nothing more important than that?

Again... you keep on comparing things to how they were with the old team when we have a new head team working on the game.

Well, man, like I said - I hope that's the case. I've been pumped from day one of the blogs, and I've been pumped about the new team. I've been telling people this year is going to be different. I even decided to pass on NCAA, thinking most of my gaming time would be dedicated to Madden for once. I'm just not as pumped or certain after seeing the last two vids.

Why not give us a decent video?

This whole ''oh, it's on pro, so expect it to be crappy'' excuse is getting rather old. I've been seeing and playing crap for years now, I want to see and play something good.

So, EA, when should we expect a video that actually shows improvements?

You should ask the PR team this rather than the people that make the game.

Ian has basically said it himself that he hates how PR tapes the game when they don't know how to play the game well and also since they play it on rookie.

Ian will be addressing this since he said that he will soon make a vid for us "sim" fans showing off the wildcat formation.

I'm basing it on track record. EA does this with every single game they put out. By having the Operation Sports stamp of approval on the early release of information, it is good PR for the company.

I'm not dead wrong. I know this was the first year EA got good PR out of sending OSers to Orlando. What I'm saying is that they have had years to read the forums all over the internet, and they still haven't done much with it. You stated earlier that EA sent OSers in years past and that is the part that was dead wrong.

That is just silly if you don't know the facts.

These people were hard core critics with the Madden series. One guy had a game of 2k5 with him and said, if Madden isn't any good, I'm going to play this the whole time. He never opened the case.

Again though, maybe the lessons he learned from playing the game on higher difficulties (since he will get sacked, pass for ints, fumble etc.) with his friends will make him want to practice more on harder levels so that he can get better.

Like you want to give tools to newbies so that they can get better but since the game sells so much, you don't want to irk them into not wanting to play it at all.

But here is a news flash. How big of a difference has there ever been from rookie to all-pro, in the past? Because I'm just giving Ea the benefit of the doubt. When I first went online with Madden I was amazed at how many people played the same way. Then I played some buddies locally and they played the same way as the online folks.

So again if they don't fix the core people will never have a reason to play football. They will just do the ridiculous stuff the game allows them to do.

The funny thing is I don't even care much about the no sim players but just compare the players in the 2k5 tourney to the Madden tourney players. The stuff they can pull in Madden makes the game not even a football game anymore. Dropping your entire defense in coverage?! CMON! Again there is something wrong FUNDAMENTALLY with a so called SIMULATION football game when you can even accomplish that. ROOKIE OR ALL-MADDEN.

But again, how can you base it on track record when...

1. The people they usually brought for community day were people who made madden sites and were madden challenge competitors when this year they have brought in people who gave a ton of constructive feedback about past madden games and/or have bashed madden?

2. This year's community day was earlier than it was in years past and therefore they have more time to tune things based on feedback.

3. A large part of this change was due to Ian now being the head of the game.

Like really... it's much much more than just good PR (especially when most casuals probably don't even know what OS is).

I can base off track record because EA puts up silly gimmicks and people fall for them every year. Having OSers come to Orlando is a gimmick whether you want to think about it that way or not. It's good business sense to have positive hype around you. That way, EA can go out and say that hardcore gamers like it, and this will be the best sports game ever.

I hope EA did take their advice. I would love to see a great football game out of Madden 10. I'm saying that I wouldn't get my hopes up because of Maddens 06-09.
