Am I crazy or did they reverse the direction of breaking pitch gestures? I pretty sure in 2k8, for a left to throw a slider the first movement was right (the way it breaks), but it is now left...

Why does it matter? Pitching is a one step process now. Just press down for a fastball, perfect pitch every time.

Victorino and werth are big names? Pena is the biggest but in reality has had only one great season.

Just got done playing another game.

I can get the AI to take strikes, i think it just depends on the movement/placement. If you throw it almost anywhere near center of the zone they are going to hack. If you place a 12-6 with Hammels that starts up high but sinks into zone, they will take it.

As for people having trouble getting the ball lifted, I don't know what to say. I'm pulling the right stick back when the pitch is released, and then pushing it forward when I want to make contact. I'm hitting them to Deep Center almost all the time, which, IMO, isn't a good thing.

Pros:

• Presentation is a Step up, Including Commentary.
• Pitching is working like it should. Very fun to pitch.
• When not lifting the ball straight up, I do get a variety of ground balls hit against me.

Cons:

• Those little poofs of dust are really distracting to me, esp. when they appear when you're running on the grass. Bad design decision, IMO.
• Running Animations and some general animations need some work. The outfield running away from the camera towards the wall comes to mind the most.
• I find fielding to be quirky at times. Sometimes it works great, other times I'll go to dive only to have it go right by me.

Overall I am impressed. After last year's debacle it's hard to me to judge. I really want to play a final build before I go around saying it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

It's definitely on the way up, I just have a feeling IMO it's not there yet.

You're not crazy. I noticed that in one of the videos, and the motions are reversed. Strange to say, but it doesn't feel as natural now.

Some of the signature animations are on point and some are way off. Carlos Pena is off by a mile. Cole hamels is great and kazmir as well. Jason Worth is also off. I hope it's a demo thing. Hopefully they added more and fixed the ones that were off.
