While I totally agree with what you're saying, you have to understand that certain expectations come along with bolded statements like....

“Everything you see on Sunday, see it in Madden NFL”.

Followed by....

"feel free to call us out if anything doesn’t stand up to our new mantra."

That's a lot to swallow for anyone, let alone the hardcore community of sports fans who visit this site.

I wish them nothing but the best of luck and hope they're able to blow everyone away when they finally show the game off around Draft time. However, I'm not naive enough to forget the past.

take a look at switching the player models and use momentum in the players like NFL 2K5 and All-Pro. and how about actually using the ESPN lisence?

It certainly sounds like you guys have your heads screwed on straight. Let me just say this...Focus on the gameplay first and foremost. When you have that down THEN you can focus on the rest.

The running game in '09 was very frustrating for numerous reasons. So many times I felt the computer was "cheating" by how quickly they could blow up the play. It was like my players refused to block. On sweeps and toss plays my running back couldn't get to the edge without being tackled by a defensive tackle. I dont know how to fix it...but the line play HAS to get better. I want a challenge, but I don't want to feel like I am getting "Tecmo'ed."

If a linebacker blitzes and go through untouched....so be it. But don't stop me for a 2 yard game EVERY SINGLE TIME just because I am on a harder difficulty level...that is unrealistic.

Heh. Maybe this year the product will ....you know... work? Sorry guys. Got suckered for the last time on this product. Adding features to a game that locks up/freezes is akin to polishing a turd. After all the issues with this past couple years, I dont know how people are falling in line once again. Non compete FTW, for EA anyhow.

it is not so much "stones" as it is "brains."

Stating that they will keep us somewhat "in the loop" by sharing info over the coming months as well as saying that our feedback is encouraged is smart more than ballsy. It also begins the hype machine rolling that much earlier.....also smart.

Hopefully '10 will be the type of game we can all fawn over for months or a year(s) afterwards....we have an NBA game that fits that bill, as well as a baseball game that most everyone is still talking about in a positive manner - yet we are at least four years and an entire console overdue for a football king of the hill.

Any chance of a price break for anyone on the boards that is a outstanding "free" contributor? Or maybe an advance copy?
