I just noticed something in the screensaver that we got a long time ago, and it's that the background is of an empty AT&T Park. What I also noticed is that the Coca Cola bottle is missing, which is a sign that they had yet to finish rendering the stadium.

At least this is probably an indication that stadiums were completely rebuilt, which IMO can only be a good thing.

I might be in the minority here but these screenshots do nothing for me at all. I want to see screenshots of something in game. It just feels were getting a doctored photo. Ill be happy when i see photos of the overlays and real camera angles.

Honestly do u ever have something positive to say? Why are u always so bitter? Every game company doctor their screens. Everytime i see u post it's something negative. The game does not look like 2k8. I'll be the first dude to say 2k8 was trash but that was 2k8 under kush. Kush never made a good game. This is 2k9 with VC.

lol...actually, he's (meaning Enigma) mostly (from his posts anyway) a Show player...spends much of his time here in that forum excited about that game. (as do I, to be honest...great game).

Man, some of you guys are fired up. You would think the info everyone has been screaming for finally being slowly released would settle things down a bit...guess not. Such is life in the forums of an underperforming franchise, I guess...lol.

And 08' was what got me to buy the PS3 after constantly being let down with 2K series.

And I was also at one time, most can attest, accused for being a 2K fan and sticking up for it back before 2K8 and 08' hit.

Give it a rest, and stop crying people. Not my fault 2K bought a license and delivered poop. I can be as critical as I want, since they have YET to prove themselves. And "doctored", "touched up" or any way you want to sugar coat it photos does nothing to boost anything yet. His face tone does not match his arms. It looks out of place. The shadows that people claim are "self shadowing" are clearly photo-shopped in, because there would be a pixel indifference along the edges. There is no self shadowing in the world that clean.

And not every company doctors photos (though a lot do). 2K is known for it though on the other hand with stark differences to the final product.

I deserve the right to be critical as a gamer, and baseball fan. As much as anyone I never call out on the The Show forums are.

I can attest to Enigma being quite passionate about 2K last year.
We got into a couple of nice heated "debates":wink:
He's no Show homer....he may love it now....but I'll tell you....if 2K delivers...he'll love that too.
Can't blame him for being a little gun shy(or anyone else)...quite a few people felt a little burned after that release last year. There was a lot of B.S. going on.
Just sayin'.

Here's what I don't understand - what is with the Show fans and the 2K fans going after each other? You go to the Show side of things and many simply mock anything 2K-related, no matter how promising some of these things sound. The Show has built up a great fan base, and they are incredibly loyal. And it is a great game. I was lucky enough to get a PS3 this year and the Show is great, and 09 looks even better. But it is as if some of these loyal Show fans go completely out of their way to try and trash whatever 2K has done or is about to do.

But this isn't like Carolina-Duke or Oklahoma-Texas, a hot-blooded NCAA rivalry. These are VIDEO GAMES. I know this is a video game site and we all have different passions in life. Everyone has their own opinions, and that's great. We all have personal preferences, in everything we buy or do for entertainment. But as consumers, we should all simply hope for the best out of both games, so we all can have a legit choice with our money this spring. 2K and SCEA releasing high-quality games are a great thing for ALL OF US. So let's see what happens. Nothing would make me, an end-user/baseball gamer, happier than having two great baseball choices to get into this March.

I can understand why It could look that way, but really nah 2k made it this way, Yeah I love the show as much as the next guy, but I dont hate 2k cuz I love the show. Im very skeptical of 2k after being burned badly last year, 2k6 and 7 werent good either but at least 2k7 had potential and after all the lies they told us last year and they dropped one of the worst games in its own franchise maybe the worst in next gen sports so far.
I as well as you and anyone else have a right to be skeptical of them. I just dont like watching Fellow OSers get hyped up on this 2k9 stuff cuz its not real until its in front of you with this game specifically.
Overall though why wouldnt I want this game to succeed thats just foolishness, Why not have 2 good ball games instead of one? Its not hating its bracing some people on possible dissapointment. We dont bash 2k, 2k bashes itself and then makes promises that usually dont pan out. Thats just the way its always been so far HOPEFULLY VC can change that

Thanks Knight, I really do hope it delivers as well, so there is two great games on the market.

Exactly how I feel. And there is plenty of skepticism and criticism by Show gamers over on that forum as well. Me especially with the online component.

I am also glad we got to at least see SOMETHING. The shot looks great. I'm pumped to see more shots by the end of this week. I think this game will have a lot to offer. They are definitely taking a new approach to the game with the new features and announcers that I'm actually very. excited to check out this game.

at least lincecum looks very very realistic, but then again... so do most of the cover athletes lol

Actually Jose Reyes to me just looked awful on the game, more like a little mouse or some sort. Then again every one looked bad last year
