Gamepro has posted their preview of NBA 2K9.

"The gameplay has seen some minor tweaks--most notably smoother shot stick controls that allow you to mix up your moves in the middle of a shot--but the greatest innovations in the game are occurring in the online area. NBA 2K9 will be the first-ever basketball game to allow full 5-on-5 online play, which impresses me as much as it shocks me that it hasn't been achieved before."

NBA Live 08 had 5 on 5 online play so how can nba 2k9 be the first?

Another review that says that the graphics are amazing. I can't wait to see this game on my HDTV!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was already available but servers weren't active. But when they were, it was super smooth with no lag.
