They trust the GOP brand more than Dems. I think there are a lot of people who don't necessarily see Trump as the GOP, but his own entity who just happens to be using the GOP as the vessel to power.

China on Saturday released a global action plan for artificial intelligence, calling for international cooperation on tech development and regulation.
Quote:

Days earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump announced an American action plan for AI that included calls to reduce alleged “woke” bias in AI models and support the deployment of U.S. tech overseas.
I don't really know how serious (e.g. funding, bills) the details of both initiatives but good acknowledgement that AI is (one of) the next battlefield.

“The two camps are now being formed,” said George Chen, partner at the Asia Group and co-chair of the digital practice.
Quote:

“China clearly wants to stick to the multilateral approach while the U.S. wants to build its own camp, very much targeting the rise of China in the field of AI,” Chen said.

He noted how China may attract participants from its Belt and Road Initiative, while the U.S. will likely have the support of its allies, such as Japan and Australia.
IMO, this is the right approach for the US. Eventually, the side that innovates and plays dirty (and I acknowledge both US and China doing this) better will eventually come out ahead.

Interesting to me is article says "allies, such as Japan and Australia" and did not include Taiwan, Korea or EU. May be reading too much into their absence though.

This is why I don't think they are offering her a pardon, as much as offering to commute her sentence as long as she will testify "truthfully" (or truthfully about those they hate, lie about Trump and his supporters). She is asking for a full pardon though, according to reports.

Her attorney said she was asked about 100 names. Not that she offered 100 names, but Trump's attorney had a list. It's so obvious how this is going to play out.

TOO obvious. Everybody can see through it.

I can tell you a group who won’t see through it

On one hand, if she gets a pardon, she can't plead the 5th, so could be forced to give evidence the GOP won't like.

On the other hand, LOL at anyone who thinks Democrats would actually follow through with something like this.

Also on the other hand, I'm pretty sure Trump thinks that if she was to say things he didn't like after a pardon, he could just imprison her again. And there's a lot of evidence to suggest he's right. After all, who's going to hold him accountable?

JPhillips 07-27-2025 04:15 PM

Why would a club champion do this?

Mota 07-27-2025 07:13 PM

It's his entire personality. Rules are for other people.
