I visited my Trumper parents this past weekend. As usual, we didn't talk politics, but my parents are also Catholic. My mom made many comments about how she did not care for Pope Francis. I wanted to ask her was it because he actually preached compassion and inclusiveness, but of course, I didn't because the satisfaction of calling her out on her BS is not worth the shitstorm it would cause.

At dinner, my brother brought up the idea of us getting Greek citizenship through my dad/grandfather. He couched it in terms of giving us greater freedom to spend time in the EU after retirement, and while he's no liberal (and my SIL is way right-wing), I did detect a hint of unspoken "...and so we can get the hell out of here in case things get worse" to his thought process. I think my mom did too, because she got increasingly agitated by the talk of getting dual citizenship, as if she would be damned if her kids were going to bail on this great country of ours that Trump is setting right!

It's something we're going to seriously consider. With my dad still alive, he'd have to get citizenship first, then us. If he passes, we could go straight to using our grandfather, but we have to get the documentation. That was my brother's question - who has all of that? We think it's my oldest cousin who has the family documents (which were kept by my dad's brother, who passed about 5 years ago).

So true. The other big difference is Biden came across as weak/feeble, looking like your typical elderly grandpa who has a hard time making it to the bathroom more than once a day, while Trump comes across as way more energetic but in a crazy kinda way, looking like that homeless guy wearing no pants mumbling to himself as he shuffles down the street. He's half-entertaining, half-scary, and no one has the onions to try to talk sense to him (or they're happy to use his con man abilities to push their agenda).
