It doesn't even feel like Congress exists anymore.

He so desperately wants an American Empire with Canada,Greenland, Panama, and Mexico to match the "beauty" of the Russian Empire (with Ukraine and Crimea. Pathetic and really hope Canadian voters give him the middle finger today
|
Who could have had the foresight to see how this would end up? Certainly not the guy who "runs the world"!
U.S. agriculture isn’t nearing a trade war tariff crisis, it’s in a ‘full-blown crisis already,’ farmers say Edit to add, why aren't Democrat leaders holding press conferences at various ports to highlight these issues? Put the blame squarely where it belongs and make a tangible connection between Trump and what's coming/here. |
"A leading agriculture exports group said “massive” financial losses are already racking up at farms" -- which they will then have to sell to rich guys/agribusiness corporations. Huzzah!
|
I'm sure a bailout is coming. Farmers always get the handouts when shit they vote against their interests.

Anyone know a good site tracking the Canadian election?

Thanks Trump-Liberals win in Canada

Pretty much proving that they really are beyond saving. |

someone's beyond saving, maybe... |

Well the Conservatives would have won if Trump didn't try to meddle in Canada's sovereignty. Trump has truly unified a country... against him. |

Pierre Poilievre didn't just lose the chance to be Prime Minister. He lost his seat in Parliament as well.

That's the craziest part of the election last night. Will be interesting to see if he stays on as CPC leader or if they give him the boot. |
Pritzker gave a really good speech the other day.

Amazon had planned to mark the cost of tariffs on products on their website. Trump called Bezos, and Bezos immediately back down like the little bitch that he is.
|
Brent Terhune @brentterhune.bsky.social · 24m The White House is so proud of the tariffs they don’t want you to see what they actually cost. Kinda like how white supremacists are so proud they don’t want you to see their face. |

For all the talk about how much they hate communism, they sure are interested in a centrally planned economy. |

And we both know who the establishment will get behind. Here's what happens if you dare speak up about ousting the worst of your party. I remember a few folks here saying the Dems don't put their thumb on the scale of primaries. https://www.semafor.com/article/04/2...le-hogg-at-dnc |

Keep in mind the only source for Amazon displaying tariffs is Punchbowl News citing an anonymous source. |

The Liberal party came up just three seats short of a full majority, barring recount results.

It likely helps Amazon long term. They now don't have to lower prices if/when the tariffs get removed.

I heard a good one the other day. Apparently HHS fired a scientist who has spent his whole career studying black lung in miners. At the same time passed a mandate saying they want to expand coal mining in West Virginia. Literally killing themselves to own the libs.

Did Lindsay Graham really float the idea of Trump as Pope? Surely that's a joke just to get people pissed right?
|
Quote:
Trump played it like a joke, but as you've already seen from Grahan, the MAGA will fly right with them and start posting Pope Trump memes and such. If and when Graham and Tim Scott retire, I will lead the ticker tape parade to celebrate their losing their grip on this state. |
It's only going to be worse.
|
It really just illustrates how far gone the religious right is. There was a time where they would at least pretend they are tolerating an imperfect Trump because he gave them what they wanted. Now they are calling for a man who every day does the opposite of what Jesus was teaching, to be Pope. It's remarkable.

It's because Christina's are the most oppressed group in America and the world. It's true because my priest said so.
Also, I don't know if anyone watched the ABC interview with Trump. I sure as fuck didn't, but I did see the clip off reddit where he argues that Garcia literally has the letters/numbers MS-13 tattooed on his fingers. He refuses to admit he's wrong. It's pathetic and anyone who supports him should feel ashamed, but they're just incapable. Reddit link for reference. Blocked |

Christina's are the absolute worst. They need to be locked away in camps. |
I saw it. His brains are so cooked. I can't tell if he actually thinks the country is doing well or if he is so far gone he just listens to all the yes men.
It will be the greatest mystery of my life how people can't see right through his bullshit. |
It's not that they can't see, it's that they don't care. Look at Jon. He says he's not enamored with Trump, but he's doing the main things he wants him to do.
Most of these people just want the gays gone, or the Mexicans gone, so they're willing to ignore the stupid shit as long as it happens. They assume the economy will bounce back because it always does. They don't care that he lies to get the things they want, because it gets the things they want. They're not doing it, they're not going to hell. God has pretty much been turned into a CCTV camera in modern Christianity and can't actually tell what's in your heart, only what you do. |

So in his interview Trump said he could make a call and get Garcia back, thus admitting he is defying a court order. The next sentence he says he is the president who follows the law.

I visited my Trumper parents this past weekend. As usual, we didn't talk politics, but my parents are also Catholic. My mom made many comments about how she did not care for Pope Francis. I wanted to ask her was it because he actually preached compassion and inclusiveness, but of course, I didn't because the satisfaction of calling her out on her BS is not worth the shitstorm it would cause. At dinner, my brother brought up the idea of us getting Greek citizenship through my dad/grandfather. He couched it in terms of giving us greater freedom to spend time in the EU after retirement, and while he's no liberal (and my SIL is way right-wing), I did detect a hint of unspoken "...and so we can get the hell out of here in case things get worse" to his thought process. I think my mom did too, because she got increasingly agitated by the talk of getting dual citizenship, as if she would be damned if her kids were going to bail on this great country of ours that Trump is setting right! It's something we're going to seriously consider. With my dad still alive, he'd have to get citizenship first, then us. If he passes, we could go straight to using our grandfather, but we have to get the documentation. That was my brother's question - who has all of that? We think it's my oldest cousin who has the family documents (which were kept by my dad's brother, who passed about 5 years ago). |
Whitmer has submitted her application to be the next Tulsi.

So true. The other big difference is Biden came across as weak/feeble, looking like your typical elderly grandpa who has a hard time making it to the bathroom more than once a day, while Trump comes across as way more energetic but in a crazy kinda way, looking like that homeless guy wearing no pants mumbling to himself as he shuffles down the street. He's half-entertaining, half-scary, and no one has the onions to try to talk sense to him (or they're happy to use his con man abilities to push their agenda). |
