Mrs. stevew is thinking about going with one of these in a few weeks when she can upgrade her phone on her wireless plan. Anyone have one, and your opinon on it would be great.

I have one, just got it this past week actually.
I text a lot, so for me, it's perfect. My folks noticed that I sound a little tinnier than I did on my old phone (Samsung A900M, from Sprint...obviously, I changed from Verizon to Sprint), but they still have no problem hearing me. My biggest beef isn't with the phone, it's with the fact that in my apartment I don't get as good reception as I did with Sprint. But all Verizon users have that problem in my apartment, so I really don't think it's related to the phone.
I've heard that using a BT earpiece helps with the tin-sounding stuff. I haven't picked one up yet, this is the first phone I've had where the BT is implemented really well.
I really like the phone, and settled on it after reading a bunch of positive reviews of it (like at CNET and such) so for me, no regrets.

Maybe this is an industry term or something...what exactly does "tinnier" mean?

"Tinnier" means that the pitch is just a little higher than normal speaking, with a faint echo and much of the normal bass in a voice cut off. Turn the bass/treble dial on your stereo all the way up, and imagine getting just a little bit of feedback, for an idea of what it sounds like.

This is the phone that the carbon unit designated "girlfriend" wants as well. I am seriously considering getting the same phone since I do text some. We've been keeping an eye on Amazon as that's the best price I've seen on it.
How much more is all the extra stuff costing you, Kristin? Data plans and what not's.

Basically, cost is irrelevant here for me, since her employer carries her cell plan. She just wanted to know if it was a pos or something, as she's pretty content with the verizion service for now.

I have the base plan (450 minutes for 39.99 or something like that, free nights/weekends) with 250 "messages" (picture or text) for 5/month extra and internet access for 5/month extra (I'm not sure how this works/what it does for me/what it is exactly, I may drop it at some point). There is an unlimited text plan for 10/month, so if I end up going way over my texts, I may up that and drop the internet. I think the way the internet works is that I can access it (for like movie schedules and gmail and stuff) but it uses my minutes.
This is literally my first full week having the phone, but as I said, I like it so far. And the bill is comparable to (actually less than) what I was paying to Sprint.
