to hang in D IV? Right now I am set to autopromote (sitting 21st on the hatstats table)...

I just bought a solid/weak coach, and have $600k+ leftover....

I have a 19y/o formidible trainee who should hit outstanding by the end of the season... with 3 excellents (2 18, 1 17), 2 of whom will be form. by seasons end...

meanwhile, I have an outstanding PM, and 4 solids (1 is my winger, 1 is a backup, the other 2 have good secondaries)... and I pull anywhere from a passable to formidible MF (even pulled an outstanding once on a MOTS)...

my question is, should I plan on selling some of the trainees, whiping out my training program, to beef up the midfield? My Defense is also the weak point of my team, but i pay little attention to it (solid keeper, 2 solid wingbacks, passable CD)....

ok, I am rambling, but I have been scoping out random D IV leagues and the lowest NSI's in them are around my best (75)... I pulled a 69 this week on PIC. I'm just not sure how much money I am going to need at the end of the season to build up enough of a team to try and stick in D IV... any advice? I know many of you are at D IV or above! thanks!

Sounds like you train forwards - you can sell your 19 yo outstanding at the end of the season and be set with the 2 formidable and one excellent. That should get you around a brilliant to magnificent central attack which is good enough in most div 4 series.

First off, you should look at upgrading your keeper. Buying a formidable or outstanding (~1.45M or ~2.5M) will allow you to have a decent defense with solid or worse defenders.

You should have enough money left over to buy another midfielder as well. A formidable with no secondaries will go for about 800K. With three forwards, you don't need great offense secondaries on your IMs to get good enough attack ratings.

That should be enough to survive almost any div 4 series. Hey if you ended up in mine, you could win it. Although you could auto-demote out of IV.19.

cool, thanks for the advice. some of it was what i was thinking. If I sell the soon-to-be outstanding forward, I will buy an outstanding keeper. then, I can sell 2 of my middies (solid/excellents with inad passing and D, both of them, upper 20's) and make hopefully 400-500k there. that should help me buy another formidible/outstanding MF (and I'll still have 1 solid MF left)... I also have 2 more home games which will give me 400-600k...

If you can, save up $3.5M and get a Brilliant keeper. You get more bang for your buck that way (and it's what I'm doing).

You'll need more than 3.5.
