I was about to make a great steal - a 21 year old formidable midfielder with inadequate passing and passable defending for $1 mil.

Then exaclty 1 minute before the bidding is going to expire, a Spanish team comes in and bids on him and I ran out of cash.

He gets him for like $1.1mil.

Alf - I'm watching the transfer market at the moment, and I don't think it's all that excessive, as far as market price goes, although I'm getting the impression that passing is overvalued. I was involved in bidding on a 23-yo without the passable defending who went for $1.3 MM (I dropped out at $1.275 MM).

GE - was that Lasse Duvquist, or another 21-yo formidable IM who sold for $1.1 MM that I hadn't bookmarked?

I just figured since I had done a look-see for formidable IMs, I'd see if one of the guys in my spreadsheet fit the bill. I've got so many of them, I'm using a spreadsheet to keep track of age, nationality, skills, expiration, and price, so I have a crib sheet of where the market is (for players that have passed) and who I want to try to get.
