View Full Version : Question about Young Squad
We are so happy when we get a solid 17 years old trainee from the YS, but what is the higer level that has been puled from the YS? as i see divine guys at 28 years old or so, i suposse they were pullled with a really high value of his primary skill. So, with an excelent YS, can you get a world class trainee for example?

I know keeper pulls and outfielder pulls have different limits.
I think the outfield pulls can have excellent as a maxium for skill and keeper pulls can have a solid maximum skill.
Except for in the skill of Set Pieces, I think someone on here pulled a formidable set pieces player.

As saintjo said, the best outfielder skill you can get is excellent, except for the set pieces skill, but I don't know if there's a limit to set pieces. I have also heard about formidable set pieces youth pulls before. Also, I've always read that any excellent skill on an outfielder youth pull is always a low excellent
For a keeper, the highest he can be is solid. Never heard of a limit to the kind of solid it can be (low, mid, high)...

Isnt there some different on the age limit between keeper and outfielder?
I think Outfielder pulls can be 17-20 and GoalKeeper pulls can be 17-21. Can anyone confirm this?

As far as keepers go, you can pull a high solid (as I can attest, haivng pulled one that popped to excellent with 1 week of training)...of course, I'm talking about my boy Jonathan Dixon. :)

i hate getting 23 yo disastorous keepers...kinda defeats the purpose of the youth pull

Nah, that just defeats the purpose of -your- youth pull. Ups the rest of our chances for a decent one though :)

That brings up a question I have had for a while about how the youth system actually works.
Does everything think...
1. With each pull, there is a random number generator that decides on your players attributes and skills, but are weighted by your youth squad rating.
2. Each week a set number of youth pulls are created based on the number of human controlled players in the league. Then their skills are created by set percentages. Example would be 1% get 1 solid skill at random, 5% get 2 passable skills at random, etc. Then your youth pull gets its player from the pool of already created players.
Personally I think it is option 1. I have no proof or anything. I just know as a developer myself, option 1 would be a ton easier to implement.
However both options have advantages and fall backs. For instance, option 1 makes it "possible" for every person who pulled that week to get a player with solids in every skill, or on the flip side, disaterous in every skill.
Option 2, you could make the arguement that someone might have a better chance by pulling as soon as possible or waiting until later in the week.
Anyone have any insight into this?

I'm almost positive it is option 1
