Anyone have experience with getting jerseys framed? I have two signed football jerseys (for my alma mater) that I want to get framed to be able to display somewhere.

I guess any experience anyone has would be appreciated. I've done some googling and see a fairly standard format, but one of the main ones involves having two photos which may be tough for me to get (because my alma mater is FCS).

Any place that was good/bad? Any particular layout/design? Color suggestions for William and Mary? Anything would be appreciated. Was going to just wait for a Michael's coupon for framing (like the one I had but never got over there for) - but if there's somewhere better served for this, I'm flexible.

I posted this on a W&M fan board, but modified it some for here to take out some of the specific local references ;).

I had a contractor friend of mine, build one for me for my Thurman Thomas jersey

I have seen these before (http://www.michaels.com/Shadowbox-30-inch-X-40-inch/fr0659,default,pd.html?cgid=products-framing-shadowboxes&start=1)

EDIT
as I post this, I see the great reviews the product is getting.....

Heh, I appreciate the thought, but yeah quality seems to be lacking on that.

I suspect any "one size fits all" product is going to be lacking and that custom work is the way to go here, which I realize will be fairly costly.

You are definitely going to want to get a custom job if you care about your jersey - UV protective glass, vacuum sealed, etc. It's worth the money to know your jersey is in good shape.

I had a Jeff Bagwell autographed jersey framed at Michael's for a Christmas present a few years back. Cost more than the jersey did but it looks fantastic. Michael's usually has framing specials around the holidays.

I did the same for a canvas poster of a photograph I tool and, again, frame cost more than the poster. Michaels typically has a 50-60% off coupon for custom framing if you wait a week or two but it's still expensive and I'm not sure if they would have specifically what you want for a jersey.

I liked it for the poster as I got to choose the specific frame and specific dimensions for an oddball poster and it worked nice for that.
