what the best ID3 tagger program to get?


looking for one that does a job and also finds tags for you for single .mp3 songs you have.

theres programs that do this for you? i just use winamp and do it myself

Since I got an iPod for Christmas, I now use iTunes: it takes care of everything.

Before that, I've used Mp3tag (http://www.mp3tag.de/en/index.html).
It's really a powerful program, plus it's freeware. Try it.

What the hell is an ID3, and why would anyone want to Tag one?

Id3's are little bits of information that are stored inside of music files. You can save the artists name, song name, year work was done, album name, etc to any Mp3 file using the above programs. They make things much easier to find when using an Mp3 player.

How do I use Itunes to get tag information? I have been using Musicmatch, but if I can keep it in house, I'd prefer that.
