Bad news .. Jeff Garcia breaks his fibula.
Orlovsky has looked good but its the 4th pre-season game. Expect ignorant Lions fans demanding he start. Chances are he won't even be second string. Tim Couch to the Lions, tho not rumored, definetly could happen now if he's healthy.

So the rumors regarding Detroit trading Harrington to KC just got flushed down the toilet....

To be honest those are the first I've heard of it.
What was the rumor?

Harrington is your QB for the next 10 years, accept it Lions fans. Besides, its not like Garcia was any better an option. I feel bad for the guy though, multiple injuries to the left leg...youch.

Ah wow. Well, totally squashed now, though I couldn't see it happening in the first place.

Maybe I am naive but I think Joey has a shot to be good. His #'s last year A LOT of QB's would love to have. 3000 yards, 19 TD, 12 INT.
If he can sustain drives, we'll be set.
I was never a big Garcia guy anyway. Everyone in Detroit wants them to stretch the field .. Yet why did TO not like Garcia? Because he couldn't stretch the field.
Eh, who knows.

Hey I know that place! I spend like half of my workday typing mindless blabber over there....when message boards collide. I heart Joey.

Honestly I like harrington, I hope he makes the adjustments he needs to be a good QB for many years. I'm really impressed by the sheer magnitude of the hate though. Its not like the Lions were doing any BETTER before Joey came along ;)

Hrmm...
It would have been nice to have Garcia there as a back-up. Very nice. Harrington rattles too easily.
Not good.
Not much out there in the way of experienced back-ups either.

I hear Chad Hutchinson isn't doing much now.

I'm sure Ryan Leaf would give it a go ;) Oh wait, you wanted an experienced backup...Testaverde is still breathing, and oh yeah AKILI SMITH might take a shot.
