First the broken arm.

Then The yo-yos on the internet steal my credit card.

Then today, I was informed due to revenues not reaching their goals, my employment has been "terminated due to a reduction in force" (shorthand, I've been laid off).

So, I'm having a "Celebrate SirFozzie getting Laid off Party".. Why is it a party??

BECAUSE..

I'M GONNA GET DRUNK ANYWAY! so might as well let others get snookered at the same time! :)

Welcome to the unemployment line. It really sucks here. But hey Monster.com and HotJobs are great. Couple those with a few of my industry job boards and I've probably sent well over 50 resumes in the past two weeks. Maybe even more than 75.

Lots of good jobs out there right now to be had. Of course, you have to compete with everyone else to get them.

The advice everyone has given me -- send resumes out to jobs you would love to have (dream job) even if you don't meet the requiremetns. As a good friend told me -- you never know. In other words -- ambition counts.

On a positive note, I will be getting an unemployment check. Funny thing is -- when you account for gas, lunch, deductions, etc., I make as much or more than I did employed. And all I'm doing is looking for a job, going to job fairs, interviews, etc. Not bad!!!

Sweet!!!

OK, who's going to pay for my plane ticket out there?

And please, don't everyone volunteer at once...

Yeah, I had that happen the last time I was unemployed. But for some reason, the impact wasn't too bad, since I got a job rather quickly.

Good luck. Like I said earlier, maybe we should create a laid off forum for all of us out of work.

I haven't had enough money to warrent a credit card up until now, and I just recently got a decent job (for my situation anyway) at a liquor store, though I have had a broken arm not too long ago. Broke right below the elbow and needed a metal plate. Became a real bitch when I tried lifting again and anytime it hits something hard.

Anyway, good luck getting a new job. If nothing else works out, I could probably train you to be a ninja.

That's rough... sorry to hear it.

By the way, if you're still really drunk, I'd like to discuss a Josh Beckett trade.

too many.

I just heard today that my office lost it's biggest contract. I expect some layoffs to start coming down the pike pretty soon. Hopefully, I'll be one of the lucky ones because everyone is laying off and the competition for jobs is intense. :(
