we should buy a guild charter-only takes 5 to make one-it cost one plat, which is sadly more than I have right now. You can buy it in the central tower in Meridian-ground floor, right as you come into the first room there.

Oh my... I was trying to level up my new Mage this weekend so I could join the group going forwards. I didn't realize you had already created a guild. I could swear I saw someone with that guild name last night. I finally made my way to Meridan, and have now just completed the quests down by the Lakeside Outpost and waterfront. I'm pretty sure I pinged Level 15 and believe I will be on my way to Smith's Haven.

Where is the group off to next?

I think you can see them all in the game, right? If you go to the page where it shows your overall "score", you can click on the breakdown of each section, and it shows you the achievements you already made as well as the rest of them. I'll double-check tonight.

For fun I sometimes read through the official Rift forums. I saw this today (posted from a player in Japan), and makes me even happier I've decided to invest in Rift & Trion:

I don't post much on the forums... but just wanted to say a big thanks to TRION for:

"Dear xxxxxxx,

Trion Worlds, with the rest of the world, has been following the unprecedented events in Japan. We hope that you and your family are safe and well. We understand that, at this time, you may have more immediate priorities than playing RIFT, so we have credited your Trion Worlds account with an additional thirty (30) days of RIFT game time.

This additional game time will automatically be credited to your account — you do not need to do anything. If you have an active subscription plan, your first billing date will be postponed/delayed by an additional thirty days. No change will be made to the subscription plan you have chosen.

We are grateful for the support that you have shown for RIFT by purchasing our game and hope you enjoy this additional game time.

Sincerely,
Trion Worlds, Inc."

It was an unexpected surprise and a nice gesture on their part, many thanks. Thoughts and prayers to others in Japan hit hardest by the recent events.
I have no reason to think this is a hoax, so instead I

World Event in progress!

Thomkal
03-30-2011, 04:21 PM
Okay there was some (okay a lot) of confusion over what was going on with the new event and quests, so thought I'd let you know what to do.

When you log in you will see there is a new world quest available-there does not appear to be anything you can do with that-I'm guessing an invasion will happen sooner or later.

I logged in at Denegar's Stand-there was a new quest giver there telling you to go to Meridian to find out more about the world event. This person is in front of or behind the portal depending which way you come-there will be another questgiver there, a daily quest giver.

The daily quest giver wants you to close 3 death rifts-there's a quest giver not connected to this in the command center that asked me to close 6 death rifts (this is on my level 20 guy), so you can get credit for both here.

The person in Meridian you are directed to, wants you to find the tears between the planes that are starting to form in Meridian-and pull the creature out who is causing it and kill them, giving you an activate device to pull the creature out. You must then go and find what looks like purple flames or smoke and then use the activator (the sqiurrel trap activator if you did that quest) You can then fight the planar being-was level 15 for me. I found two spots with flame (you have to do this 3 times). One is right by the guild questgivers and merchant in the Foyer-that respawned quickly for me-the other was in the tunnel leading to the command center-that did not respawn quickly.

The main questgiver will also give you a quest to collect a corrupted essence. I believe the way you get this is to do death rifts until you get a reward of some kind of stone who's name I'm forgetting, begins with an E. When you get it, it will tell you there's a quest associated with it. So click on it to activate the quest and bring it back to the quest giver (you may not have to bring it back, but this is how it worked for me).

I then went back and did another death rift-I then got a corrupted essence as a reward. You then have to click on that in your inventory-that summons an enemy to fight you. I did it by the new guarded wardstone outside Meridian as they will help you fight it. You will get an achievement and prefix title at some point during this quest chain so be on the lookout for them.

Some tips on the main death rift quest since people were not reading what they were supposed to do in the quest-there are wolves and werewolves in this rift, with two or more big stone formations you can activate. Some of the stages have you click on these formations to cleanse the wolves and werewolves. You MUST do this, not just kill them like in most rifts. Once they are cleansed, they turn purple then you can kill them to complete the other part of the stage. You wil miss out on the bonus stage if you don't do this. Make sure all pets are put on defensive so they don't keep the wolves away from the stones (you have to pull them toward the stones to cleanse them)

Thanks Thomkal - sounds confusing at first but after I re-read what you said it makes sense now. I don;t think I would have figured it out on my own ;)

Part of the patch comes with VIDEO CAPTURE:
VIDEO CAPTURE
* You can record video through RIFT up to 3 minutes in length. If you add a YouTube account through the Settings menu, RIFT will automatically upload videos to that account!
* Type /record or press CTRL+Y to start recording. Use it again to stop!
* Small icons next to the minimap show when video is recording and encoding.
* Once encoding is complete, you will have the option to upload if you have attached a YouTube account.

That's pretty neat!

They upped the rewards for the world event quest dailies, you can get 40 a day now instead of 20 from the quests. They also seem to give rewards for closing death rifts more consistently, and they added some legit items to buy that weren't there yesterday. There's a *really* nice purple mage ring for 300 shards that I am working my way towards.

LOL, you are screwed Schmidty, just wait until you start getting more than 3 souls form each character and adding additional roles :)

There actually seems to be a pretty good balance actually, seems like rogues are the most popular followed by clerics, warriors and mages. If you like mages a Warlock / Chloromancer is a fun build that lets you solo when others aren't around and is also effective on raids.

BTW, did you find the option to add more action bars? I always go 2 on the bottom and 1 on the side as 3 is the minimum needed for me. You can also export our UI settings so when you make characters in the future you don't have to redo the layout manually.

As for being undecided on which character to play-the good news is that starting around level 15 you can do quests that will give you the remaining souls in your calling-you can then switch out one soul for another to give you options or if you just didn't like one of the souls you originally picked. This lets you make a more PvP build for instance if you were to concentrate on that. I would say that mage is the likely lowest numbers in the game right now as they are a bit weak compared to the other callings. But don't worry about that, play the ones that are the most interesting to you.

As for the quickbar, do you mean the action bar at the bottom of the screen where all your combat and other keys are?. If so if you go into settings there is a section for action bars-where you can put up another one or more on the bottom or the side or both.

Welcome to the game Schmidty. Be sure to give us the name of the character(s) you are playing so they can be added to the guild. If you are still low level, some of us I'm sure would be happy to make alts to group with you and help show you parts of the game.

dola,

esc->settings->interface-action bars

There's a dropdown menu to add additional bottom bars and side bars.

Other highly recommended options that make things much simpler for me:

Interface->Misc - Auto-Loot by default, Auto Loot button = none, Enable AOE Looting (in a group you will still by default roll on greens and up), this just auto loots the vendor trash).

Interface->Misc: Ability Queue = Full. This allows you to "queue up" your next skill while the current one is casting. This is less effective on a rogue where you are constantly regenerating energy but works really really well on a mana based character.

Interface->Camera - I have camera shake turned off. You'll see what it is pretty soon and decide for yourself. If i stare at the screen too often while its happening it triggers my super weak motion sickness problems.

Two ways to do this Schmidity and all other new players-post your character(s) name here-and we can add you as a friend and then when online together, add you to the guild. Or you can make us friends (Use the O command to get to this) and then you will be notified when one of us is online or you can check when logging in to see if any are online-then send us a tell and we can then add you. There's another thread with the names of our characters if you can't find them in this thread.

So I've taken the plunge. It looks like I'll probably end up doing most of my playing on a different server, as my brother and some others are there, but I'll do my best to drop in when I can on Keenblade.

I'm sort of intrigued by the game, but not hooked yet. It seems like a carbon copy of Warcraft but for the character class system (Souls) and graphical style (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). Although the incredible diversity of character creation in the Soul system has me very intrigued, I worry that it will eventually be too difficult to balance and that there will only be a few viable builds that people utilize. Of course, at level 10-15ish, as I am now, that will be impossible to tell until later.

On the negative side, the playstyle and questing seems to be pretty much identical to Warcraft. I've only done about one zone's worth of quests so far on the Guardians, and not quite a full zone on the Defiant side, so there's still plenty of room - but it seems to be the same old "kill XX of these," "collect XX of those," "escort this guy here" questing. Although it was comfortable to pick up my rogue and instantly have a 5-combo-point-and-finisher combat system...it was sadly boring and the same as I'm used to elsewhere. I do enjoy that there is a bit more synergy between different abilities to build combo points - the Keen Strike/Quick Strike combination for an Assassin has a much better 'feel' to generating combo points than just spamming the same button over and over again, but it will probably just become a 1-2-1-2 rotation instead of 1-1-1-1. Hopefully as I progress down the tree and level further, more synergy like that is apparent. I'm also looking forward to trying out some of the more unique Souls, although the interesting ones leave many questions as to their solo-playability (Dominator and Bard are the two that come to mind off the top of my head as interesting but probably futile solo endeavors).

On the positive side, the Rifts are really awesome. The ease with which you can join a public group on the fly and band together to defeat difficult content as it happens is incredible, and really brings out the Massively Multiplayer in MMORPG. I've only seen a few rifts so far, and those minor ones at that...hopefully there's a little variety to them so that by the time you're in the upper (or even max) levels they aren't boring, ho-hum affairs.

I'm off to level some more - I'm very interested in getting into the dungeons and raids, as they are by leaps and bounds my favorite part of WoW. Hopefully Rift can compare favorably there.

04-06-2011, 11:42 AM
So I finally got my ass handed to me last night for the first time. Stumbled across a Rift in Freemarch near the Todrin Estate, jumped into the public group with two other people and fully expected to roll it up nice and quick like the minor rifts that I had been soloing back near the Ark of the Ascended. Quickly was I abused of that notion. I was level 11, and the mobs pouring out of the Rift were 11-12, and they took nice big chunks of my life away at a time. My personal shield and heal over time spell were enough to keep me plowing through them, however (Shaman/Justicar/Warden Cleric). Then came the big old rock golem/elemental, a level 11 elite that just wrecked our faces, multiple times.

I love that in this game an Elite mob really will kick your butt - one thing that I think Warcraft blew it on was creating "elite" mobs that were anything but that.

Anyhow, after the three of us got wrecked, we came back and started to attack him more cautiously. After three deaths or so I realized he was doing a proximity AoE attack that was what was really destroying us, and we began to whittle him down. Right before we managed to kill him, he used some other ability that basically one-shot me at range, some beam of light. I didn't manage to catch the mechanic on that one, so I'm going to have to stay on my toes if I see him again. But even while dead and running back to my corpse, I got credit for the kill, and boy was it a satisfying kill.

Here's hoping that Rifts remain dynamic at higher levels even after repetition, because this is a lot of fun so far, and I'd hate for it to only be fun because it's new. Variety will be key in keeping events like this from becoming mundane, I think.

I haven't played WOW, so I can't compare. I've played EQ1 and 2, DAOC and AO very briefly. Peak of my enjoyment came with EQ1, the others didn't come close to stacking up. To me Rift is easily the closest that's come to EQ. May surpass it eventually.

Ok, so I'm assuming that "Roles" are basically different soul builds? I see that I can buy one for I think it was 30 Plat. How many can you end up having, and what is the mechanic for swapping roles? Is there a cooldown or a cost for switching roles?

Vince, Pt. II
04-06-2011, 01:17 PM
Answering my own question, it appears you can eventually unlock 4 different Roles (30 gold, 3 Plat and 22 Plat, I believe were the prices), and you can freely switch between them out of combat.

Yup, I'm enjoying this system quite a bit. I am leveling up as a necro/warlock which has a lot of survivability for a mage and makes me feel pretty safe most of the time, but I switch to pyromancer/warlock for instances, and last night ran across a rift where people were just AE'ing down everything so I hopped out of combat, switched over to Pyro and AE'd the hell out of everything. Finished the rift, switched back to necro and went about my business. I really like the variety and utility available.

It seems to me that when WOW first came out, elites were elite and the game just felt epic. But as time went on, WOW dumbed down the content and players got better gear. There was a time where just about every quest chain ended with a badass of some kind that you had to group up to kill. All of those baddies are now just normals. Every low level char is running around with rare quality heirlooms as well, which just makes the content a breeze.

Here are the problems as I see them with Rift so far:

-With four different "roles," why would I ever need to roll an alternate character? One of each class will be more than enough for me, and I will actually more than likely keep it to just two, rather than four characters.
-The biggest draw to me thus far is the unique Soul system for character design/development. However, with 32 different souls, balance is going to be a huge, huge issue, and I'm more than certain that some will simply be ignored at high levels.
-Aside from lack of play, this balance issue will impact game design. Encounters (both PvP and PvE) are invariably balanced against what characters are capable of. If certain Souls are overpowered, weaker souls will not only be ignored, but be made ever weaker by the inevitable "arms race" that comes from designers developing more difficult content.
-The storyline. While it is initially a large draw, because I love a story driven game, what happens when we finally kill Regulos? Is something else going to come around and force the Rifts to remain? As a persistent world, a single overarching enemy, while great for unifying people and creating a story, seems like a detriment to further development in an MMO.

I need a bit more time with the game to see if these concerns are well-founded, but from my initial forays, these are the things that stick out to me.

Messing with the recording, pretty cool. Records and uploads to youtube seamlessly with a status all the way through.

So for the people who haven't played, this is what Rift has that's supposed to set it apart. There were a couple dozen steps to get to this final enemy, each one basically it's own raid then this big guy is the final goal. This is a 20 man raid group that was put together on the fly, very organic.

Iron Tomb, it has a couple of brutal bosses, best to be in the 18-22 range, so you are close and it definitely takes 5 people. I added a more defensive role to my tank for the next run through there so I can eat more damage and hold threat better. The other build I have is too high on DPS and better for solo than raids.

found my first cairn tonight-in Stonelands, got a nice mace from it that I'm one level too low for right now. I can show people where it is but if looking on your own its near the top of the mountain right behind Camp Fergus (not sure that's the right name), just follow the road out the back of Granite Falls, stay to the right when the intersection comes, and you will see the camp. Look for a sparkling half dome about 3/4 of the way up.

Well, there were three of us willing to run IT today. It's 7:30 PM EST and that's it. We decided to postpone it. Maybe this weekend?

Vince, Pt. II
04-14-2011, 06:34 PM
7:30 EST is just a little too early for me - I get home from work right about at that time, and since I work out in the field, I like to shower and such when I get home. 8:00 EST I could probably make.

I've bought two of the three extra role slots for my Cleric. My main role is Melee DPS as a Shaman/Justicar, my secondary is as a tank with a Justicar heavy build, and my 3rd role is as of yet unclaimed. I've filled it out as a Cabalist AoE DPS type build, but I'm thinking of swapping her over to being a healer, just for the flexibility. So if/when we get a group together, I can fill any of the three roles as needed.

I don't know how many people we still have in the IT/Freemarch level range, but if we'd like, I could set up a group to run those epic group story quests and then do IT afterward (they lead up to a quest that goes into the Iron Tomb).

That sounds good to me. Being that we're staying in a motel and I can't get on Rift right now, hopefully we'll be back in our house tomorrow. Sorry your going through that Raiders, hope you all stay safe.

I was online earlier today and asked the others if they were interested in starting up some Guardian characters. I think the first couple zones on that side are a little more interesting than the Defiant side, both in terms of quests, story, and visually. There are some neat areas (Hedge Maze, Palisades, and Overwatch Keep) that would be fun to go through with my fellow Trout. :)

...and its not off to a good start in Europe-less laggy perhaps, but many servers crashed and restarted back in stage 1, some people stuck in the River of Souls instance unable to portal out or resurrect....sigh.

I've given Trion the benefit of the doubt so far-new MMO, new technology, new company, new people working on a MMO for the first time, etc, so the delay of a week for part 2 of the event didn't bother me. I may have to give them a thumbs down for this though, especially after delaying it for a week-to still be having major trouble with the event is a sign it was way too early to be doing this kind of thing and they should have waited.

And I can't seem them delaying it another week because next weekend is Easter weekend. Let's hope its more stable when/if it starts on US servers later today.

It will begin in every zone-three or more boss fights in each zone and rifts/invasions-heavily story oriented with Alsbeth leading the invasion-they've changed things around from the original plan it looks like, so not sure what exactly will happen in part 3 and where, there just may be a cutscene, and then the new river of souls instance will open for high levels.

Thankfully the really bad stuff stayed away till it was over.

So if you were to give examples of why RIFT is cool and how it is different from other MMOs what would you say?

CF, most MMO's are very similar in terms of how they are set up because most regular players of them expect certain things from them in terms of how they are set up, the various UI windows, crafting, player vs player setup, etc. So its theme and the one or two unique ideas that make it into each game.

With Rift, its just that the Rifts that nearly continuously open up in the sky and drop all sorts of nasties looking to destroy the natives. There are several different variations of Rifts, each is like a mini-event with various stages you must beat before moving on to the boss at the end. They have a good storyline developed around the Rifts and the two opposing factions in the game.

Another mostly unique feature is its soul (player character classes) system. Players choose between four different Callings (main character classes-Warrior, Priest, Mage, and Rogue. Then within each Calling there are 8 (9 if you go the PvP route) Souls. These are 8 different character classes originating from their Calling-like Marksman and Assassin for Rogue, Pyromancer and Stormcaller for Mage, Shaman and Druid for Priest, Paladin and Champion for Warrior for example. Each level you get "soul Points" to invest in one of three Souls a character may have. There's a "tech-tree" for each soul where you spend your points giving yourself new abilities or strengthening certain parts of your soul's capabilities. It really provides a lot of options for character building, letting you play how ever you want.

First month is free if you decide to get the game to give you enough time to decide if you like it or not.

For those who couldn't get into the Phase 2 & 3 events today, here's their official response. Once again - they're doing right by me (a paying subscriber):

When we set out to get this unveil event in front of you, it was all about some serious ambitions.

Great new types of content to unveil a brand new raid zone. Events that really push the edge of what's possible not just in Rift, but in any MMO of its kind. All within an incredibly rapid amount of time following launch.

In this case, while we did get to "what's possible" we didn't get to "solid gameplay for the entire game universe." The later phases of the event were too concentrated and time-compressed, which caused issues on a number of worlds.

Ambition is important -- It's what keeps us improving day to day, week to week, month to month. But, it's equally important to know when you walked too close to the edge and got cut.

Between our previous experience with zone events and now with world events, we have a much better idea of the range we can create "fun" for at a mass scale in the future, and the steps we need to take to continue progressing the more solid gameplay experiences that only happen in RIFT.

As I had posted earlier, our next world events will already be taking everything we learned, as well as all of your comments about the event, into account. Please do keep them coming -- I guarantee we're here reading them all, weekend or not.

As developers, none of us are happy when anyone who chooses to spend their valuable time in our game feels like they got the short end of our aspirations.

To that end, even if something goes great for some, when it doesn't go great for all, we're going to go out of our way to make it up in some way wherever we can.

We're going to assume that if you are an active subscriber you were intending to participate in the final stages.

1) Operating on that assumption, later this week everyone will be receiving an in-game mail with the River of Souls Event Reward Pack containing:

Symbol of Purity – This item starts a quest you can complete to obtain
250 Otherworldly Sourcestone
1x - Purified Treasure Cache – Contains a random chance of obtaining one of the special world drop event rewards from the day of the event
Common – Grave Goods Bag -Unique 20 Slot Bag (NEW ITEM)
Uncommon - Shroud of Anti-Life – Lorn non combat Polymorph
Rare – Nimble Spectral Horse – 90% Speed Mount
Ultra Rare – Swift Spectral Warhorse – 110% Speed Mount
Shadetouched Weapon Cache – The starter item for the Rare Death weapon quests. You can choose whichever level appropriate one you'd like.
The following two Achievements, since not everyone who was (or wanted to be) present was able to obtain them.
Grim Hero
Grim Protector 2) The achievement for kneeling to Alsbeth will remain available in her incarnation inside the River of Souls.

3) Additionally, we're also going to continue the Otherworldly Sourcestone drops for the next few days, for those who haven't yet finished off their collections and would care to.

4) And since the question has come up quite a few times -- the ability to complete the quests from the Shadetouched Weapon Cache will continue, such that you're always able to finish them.

We do thank you for your patience with us during this first ever World Event. We know that patience isn't infinite. We do respect that fact greatly, and you have our word that we're listening and reacting smartly for the next round.

- Scott

2) The achievement for kneeling to Alsbeth will remain available in her incarnation inside the River of Souls.

Glad I didn't go ahead and blow my sourcestones, since they are still dropping.

jeff061
04-17-2011, 12:43 AM
And yeah, the main problem(in my opinion) was it was all too compressed, happy they recognized that. For phase 2, if you blinked you may have missed out on the invasion for whatever zone you were in. I imagine the mad rush of people to each hot zone caused more than a few technical issues on the backend. Happily I went up against at least 2 bosses in shimmer.

For phase 3 there wasn't enough time for people to get to the location that was being broadcast, since this was a single location globally and not per zone.

Just observations, I'm not exactly up in arms over this :D. I still have more than enough fun with the more typical zone events(stop invasions, seal rifts, kill colossal boss, get loot and achievements).

That's nice that they are doing all that given all the problems they had with the event. It never made any sense to me to do Part 2 just once, and then only the higher levels have the chance to do Part 3. It would have been good to have Part 2 run several times over a weekend or maybe even a week just to give people enough opportunities to participate. I also think it was just too early in the game's history to try something like this, but hopefully they will learn a lot from it for future world events.

For me Part 2 was better than I expected given the horror stories I heard coming from the European shards-Yeah the server crashed once, but the three boss battles went quicker than I expected, and it was crazy fun running across the countryside avoiding natives, invasions, rifts, and even Alsbeth herself! I actually came face to face with her as I didn't see her coming until it was almost too late. It will be interesting to see what direction they can take these world events-how much variety will be in them, etc.

And yeah for giving us a another chance to win that horse! :)

BYU, Severian will take one of those bags thanks-maybe send one or two to our new friend Puresim?

Hey jeff,

Two ways of looking at it-1) this is our home here and its easy to check in on this thread since we all hang out here. 2) setting up our own message board elsewhere might make it more tempting to discuss the game more than here. Here everything is one thread so you have to search 10 pages now if you were looking for something. Having a message board with individualized topics would make things easier, and probably generate more response to specific issues and issues that haven't been discussed here yet to any extent.

So what do the rest of you think? And I've had no experience with message board setups so can't help you there I'm afraid.

Thomkal
04-20-2011, 07:35 AM
And to avoid any confusion with the email-the quest NPC's will be removed from the game-so the two there together by the portal in Meridian will be gone after the patch. There is still the event vendor in the Planar College though to turn stuff in/by things from. I already bought some level 30 stuff for one of my characters on Keenblade, waiting to buy pets and stuff till I got stuff I could actually use first. :)

That's a fair point. In addition, I think our continued discussion on the game has actually helped talk others into playing. My fear would be we would lose that possibility by branching off onto another board.

such greed Jeff. :) Patch is up and checking my first email to see what I got. I have assorted characters across a few servers so let's see what I got: For each character I get the two achievements for participating in the last two stages of the event-a quest item that you turn in to Asha Cantari in the command center in Meridian for the shadetouched weapon cache quest starter item (given one of four choices-no level limit, use at level 23, 33, or 43), and she gives you the 250 sourcestones. And I can confirm the event Merchant is in Planar college just off the crafting area in Meridian. Now for the random items part:

-Shroud of Anti-Life (which I cant use to Level 30, which kinda sucks cause the character who got it is level 14.)
-20 slot bag
-20 slot bag
-Shroud of Anti-Life
-20 slot bag

-20 slot bag (kejaan :( -already had the 18 slot bag from the event)

Yeah, bags don't mean much for me. I was loaded with 16/18 slots(which is plenty) already and have 5 unlocked slots in the bank with 16s. Capacity just doesn't come into play anymore, especially with how easy it is to get back to town from pretty much anywhere.

I think I'll just drop all my crafting material in it so I can move it from my bank to my person and craft without picking through ingredients.

Trion just can't win-to go along with the bag and quest and such they gave us in return for the problems and mistakes they made with the World Event-they ended up making a new problem-they forgot to "turn on" the remaining world event merchant so that it would accept the quest events that people were still doing-like the shade-trap in Meridian and the close 3 death rifts etc.

So people saw the event quest givers were gone, couldn't turn them in to the merchant, and deleted their event quests-which meant they got no credit for them of course-which was never what Trion had intended...so now they have another mess on their hands...sigh.

And there may be a problem in connection to the shadetouch weapon cache quests-apparantly the quest items you need for that quest are not dropping at all or very rare to drop.

It's ok...my daughter is grinding away on her shard and I am not able to get on right now....but the Sabres are playing so it's not a total loss.

first you should now be able to turn in any event quests you have left over in Meridian (or Sanctum). And the shadetouch weapon quest drops should be fixed (I think)

Second the 1.2 patch notes are up and wow are there a lot of them. :) Some intriguing things in there like slivers and Crafting Rifts. Sadly the one thing I was looking for I did not see at first glance....guild banks. :(

A lot of good crafting changes. Including changing one of my dailies that required a rare ingredient. Just acquiring the recipe to create the ingredient was a rare drop(I've gotten a lower level, not the high level) and required combining 2 high end ingredients to make. No more dropping 3p a day to complete :D.

Anyone know where the weekly crafting quests are?

the ones mentioned in the patch notes? They are not live yet-the patch has been on the test server and so people were asking for the patch notes in advance so they could see what was to come.

Ah, got you. Looking forward to it. Lot of quality changes. Specifying per unit cost in AH? Nice.

Anybody interested in rolling Guardian characters on Keenblade tonight? I'm getting a bit burned out on doing the same quests since my two Defiants are about the same level. :) I will be on sometime after 7pm EST.
