Hey, you want to meet me in North Carolina at the end of September? I rarely travel for shows any more (I'm just too old, have too many responsibilites, and my wife would kill me), but this show has me at least giving it some consideration:
Charlotte Pop Fest is a multi-day power pop (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_pop) music festival that will celebrate the life of Charles Darwin and science. The year 2009 is the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth (http://www.darwinday.org/), the 150th anniversary of the publication of his book On the Origin of Species, and the Year of Science (http://www.yearofscience2009.org/).
Charlotte Pop Fest is proud to announce WLBancroft Productions Inc. (http://www.wlbancroftproductions.com/) and Charlotte Film Festival (http://www.charlottefilmfestival.org/) as partners. The 4th annual Charlotte Film Festival will take place September 21-27, 2009 and the 2nd annual Charlotte Pop Fest will take place September 24-26, 2009. Both events will take place at EpiCentre in Uptown Charlotte.
The following artists will be performing at Charlotte Pop Fest 2009:
The Knack ● The Posies ● Roger Joseph Manning Jr.
Pat DiNizio ● The Spongetones ● Jill Sobule
Mike Viola ● Myracle Brah ● The Shazam
Gladhands ● The Singles ● The Jellybricks
Starbelly ● Cliff Hillis ● Dennis Schocket
Analog Daze ● Josh Burch ● Reeve Coobs ● Cool King Chris
Crisis ● Chris English ● gogoPilot ● Barry Holdship ● Ed James
Tony Low ● Leisure McCorkle ● Chris McKay & The Critical Darlings
Scott’s Garage ● The Stars Explode ● The Stellas ● stratocruiser
Transmission Fields ● U-Phonik ● The Vinyl Strangers ● James Deem
Word is Linus of Hollywood will also be appearing. If they could add Bleu to this I would probably walk there.
