I was listening while eating dinner. Seemed like he wanted to be asked a question and was getting frustrated that it wasn't being asked. I wonder if whoever set it up told him something would be asked that wasn't.

He is really coming off bad though.. His whole image as this fun loving guy has turned to just another big mouthed attention whore. Sucks because he could have been great, but now in my eyes, he's just Carl Pickens.
I wouldn't be surprised if you were right about the unasked question though.

I agree that he came off bad in the interview and is tarnishing his image in his quest to get away from the Bengals.

I think it's pretty clear he's modelling himself after Corey Dillon and is hoping the Pats will pony up a draft pick so he can go be a model citizen with Randy Moss and win a Super Bowl...

I missed the beginning of the interview, so maybe the guy asked him a few questions and that was all there was left, but the anchor looked kinda stupid just sitting on dead time. In fact, he looked like the old man reporter from that YT clip someone posted a few weeks ago. Too bad that dude's boss didn't tear him a new one live on TV like the anchor guy did on the YT clip.

I didn't hear the interview since I'm at work but I know he has a big mouth, I know he's not a "model citizen" and I know he's a prima donna but I really, really, really want the Bucs to get him.
Can't be much worse than his cousin and he was dynamite here with us until his fuse blew.

Words can't describe how ignorant and childish he came off in that interview.
PS: Is anyone sure Terrell Johnson has a dick? Because it sure doesn't seem like it.

I try not to focus on a players package, despite what certain Roman Emperor quizes may say.

Just heard it on Sportcenter. Both he and the interviewer come off as complete douchebags. The interviewer was at best completely incompetent at his job and at worst deliberately baiting him into saying something controversial on the air.

Hmm... I haven't heard the interview, but isn't that sort of what interviewers try to do? Get their interviewee to admit to something or say something controversial during the interview?

What is it about WRS that make them such jackasses? It has become a prerequiset that you must be a total douchebag to be one unless you are named Rice or Harrison.

I'll give you the interviewer (Brian Kenny) is pretty terrible, but who at ESPN isn't?
And in his defense, you have to figure that normally, an interview with CJ would seem like a pretty easy job...you start off the interview, then let him yap about nothing for 5-7 minutes. End of interview.
This is the first time I can think of he didn't want to talk...maybe he just got grill work done and he couldn't?

Calvin Johnson seems pretty solid. And, while Roy Williams can be a bit annoying at times and says some weird things, he seems like a really good guy at the core. But I totally degree, there does seem to be an absurdly highy number of WRS who are jackasses.

I think they just get attention for being jackasses.
Torry Holt
Ike Bruce
Derrick Mason
Hines Ward (although he's whined alot lately)
Just off the top of my head are pretty good WRs who you rarely hear about off the field.

Ward has always been sort of an undercover douchebag rather than a jackass to me.. Chad just sounds like a little bitch. If its about money, say its about money.. Stop dancing around the issue and come out with it. Also, if its about money, you signed the extension. What did you expect?

I'd agree completely. I actually find Roy Williams pretty funny.

Dola, and although I hate the Donkeys, Rod Smith always seemed like a class act.

Saw it on Sportscentre last night. Honestly, I thought the interviewer was worse than the interviewee. Painful to watch.

No this looked like a "special" interview set up over the phone. He wasn't in studio like most of the Bud hot seat people are.

Wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh said Thursday it would be best if the Cincinnati Bengals and disgruntled receiver Chad Johnson parted ways.
Houshmandzadeh
"If he's not traded it's going to be a problem." Houshmandzadeh told ESPN's Bob Holtzman.
Houshmandzadeh told ESPN he talked with both Johnson and quarterback Carson Palmer on Wednesday after Johnson demanded a trade from Cincinnati.
Houshmandzadeh said Johnson reiterated to him: "I'm not playing."
"I think eventually he'll show up, but then you have to worry about how much of a distraction he'll be," Houshmandzadeh told ESPN.
Johnson said Wednesday that he wants out of Cincinnati as fast as possible and he doesn't plan on reporting for any future Bengals functions -- mandatory or voluntary.
What spurred Johnson's immediate reaction was a statement made by Palmer that indicated Johnson had told the quarterback he would be at the team's mandatory minicamp in mid-June. Johnson said that wasn't true.
"I want to make this very clear,'' Johnson told ESPN.com's John Clayton on Wednesday. "I don't know where he got that. I made no assertion to Carson that I would do that. Nothing has changed from what I've been saying for three months that I don't want to play for the Bengals.''
Johnson made one of his strongest statements in saying he is not planning on reporting to any team functions because he wants to be traded.
"I want to be traded before the draft, and if that doesn't happen, I want to be traded as soon as possible,'' Johnson told ESPN.com. "I don't intend on reporting to anything.''
Houshmandzadeh told ESPN that Johnson spent most of the past few months not returning Palmer's phone calls. Houshmandzadeh said Palmer and Johnson have talked a few times recently.
Houshmandzadeh, who said he's talked to Johnson more this offseason than ever, revealed to ESPN that Johnson started talking about wanting out of Cincinnati during last season.
He said the Bengals are in a no-win situation.
"If we keep him and don't win, he'll tell everyone 'I told you so,' " Houshmandzadeh said.
