I realize that it seems a bit early for this thread, but a friend and I have decided to skip over to Austria for one of the Euro Cup matches since it will probably never come this close to Hungary again in our lifetimes. Since we're Americans we're really not picky about which match we see. I started this thread for any tips anybody has about attending the matches since we're starting with no experience at all.
Here are the venues for Austria (Switzerland is a bit far and so expensive) for the group stages (which we figure is our best chance to get tickets):
- Vienna June 8, 12, 15
- Innsbruck June 10, 14, 18
- Salzburg June 10, 14, 18

I'm interested in what people think about what the best chance to get tickets will be, or is it impossible to say before the pairings are announced? I'm guessing that Inssbruck and Salzburg might be a bit easier given the population of Vienna, but maybe the venues are larger as well. I've been to Salzburg and i'm a little surprised they're going to host a major match there since the town is not very large. I've never been to Innsbruck. I've been to Vienna many times, but have no idea where the pitch is.
We're planning on bringing a tent, and we might go to matches even if we don't have tickets. Opinions on that are welcome also.

It is impossible to say before the groups are drawn.

Games involving teams with a huge travelling support like England, Scotland and the Netherlands will be almost impossible to get tickets for.

Why is Klagenfurt no option? It's closer to Hungary than Salzburg and Innsbruck. I suppose the getting there is tougher?

As Ryan S said, the draw of the groups on December 2nd will be pretty crucial, however, the first lottery for neutral tickets was last March, while about 75% of the tickets are reserved for the fans of the countries. Wien/Vienna are going to be the games of Austria (June 8, 12 and 16 (not 15)), which could be bad for your chances. The Klagenfurt games are in the same group as Austria. But until the draw, it's really hard to figure your chances for each given game. All three group matches in Salzburg will involve the top seeds in group D (most likely either Germany or the Netherlands).

Stadium Capacities in Austria:
50,000 Wien/Vienna
30,000 Klagenfurt
30,000 Salzburg
30,000 Innsbruck

Why Hungary? There's a part of the story here that I'm missing.

i live in Budapest.

As for klagenfurt, I just totally spaced on the matches there. It is indeed the best chance for us. I have a car, but didn't want to drive unless absolutely necessary. My friend and I are proliferic walkers so we'll take public transport or hitch.
