Hello FOFCers!

My name is Alex, and I've been lurking this board for a few months now, and decided to join up.

I discovered FOF while using a forum "Football Freaks" to see if I could get Madden 07 to play more realistically. (they're a great forum, and really, they've helped me get Madden quite realistic, stats wise, for such a poorly designed game.) Played on coach mode, it seems very realistic.

Anyways, I saw FOF there, and it looked very sweet and a breath of fresh air compared to madden. I bought it and it didn't disappoint. I really suck with football, but I still love this game.

I liked it so much that I ended up getting TCY as well, but I suck even worse at that. lol

I'm 25 years old and live in Carpentersville, IL which is a NW suburb of Chicago. Besides football, I enjoy poker, video games, and my girlfriend, Cassy.

I've thought about joining a league, but I don't want to be in last place every season, and I'm not well versed in things like free agency and targeting weak points on my team, as well as building specific things up like making the passing game better while retaining my running game.

I've not even tried the game planning feature either, it's quite intimidating.

Anybody know of any beginner leagues for people who suck? lol.

Anyways, I can't think of anything more to add to this, and I have a tendency to ramble on (as you've probably noticed.)

Very great forums and the community is very sweet as well, quite possibly one of the best the GameSpy network has to offer.

I'll be posting a little more here, so keep an eye open, and maybe I'll even make some friends lol.

I highly doubt Cassy will be any kind of interested in a buncha' game/football nerds like us. (she likes me for some reason though lol)

Meeting details are very up in the air at this point. There are quite a few of us FOFC'ers in the Chicago area so there have been various meetups over the years, though I think the one we're working on would be the largest held in this area (as I don't think any previous one has had more than 5 people).

Don't worry, I sucked at FOF for a really long time too and I'm still not the greatest player. One of the best things you can do in my opinion is to start a single-player dynasty.

You find yourself looking at the team a lot more closely and start picking up on things as you go along.l

:edit: Also forgot to mention. I joined up with the Eastside Football League EFL as GM of KCY. Draft is taking forever as there's no draft utility, but the league is far from full and we still have Larry Johnson lol. So maybe I can make an impact my first season out. 1 league is enough for now BYU14 thanks though.
