I keep looking, but all I see is the thread from last year. This has been a good afternoon so far. I just finished wrapping presents (which I hate doing) and the Eagles are crushing the Redskins. Garcia is making some very good throws and plenty of smart plays.

Wow, the Jaguars have two 100-yard rushers in the first half against the Colts.

Maurice Jones-Drew so far against the Colts, 17 touches (counting kick returns), 285 yards, 3 TD.

Extrapolating from today's numbers, Jones-Drew will be the greatest player of all time.

Jaguars pushing 900 yards rushing against the Colts "run defense".

Colts = won't advance in playoffs with terrible run D despite 60-1 record

Watching Jared Lorenzen warm up on the sidelines when Eli was injured for a brief moment, it looks like Lorenzen might be even more out of shape now than he was in college!

It looks like the guy from King of Queens is out there in a football uniform. I hate to be happy with any injury, but it would be very amusing to see the hefty howitzer out there for a little while.

Wow... the Colts could lose out if they keep playing like this.

Tony Dungy is secretly plotting the Colts demise so he can get fired and return to Tampa Bay where they are in need of a coach that can teach really young guys how to tackle.

I don't even know why the Eagles are trying.
Just hand the ball to AJ and go for the draft pick.

Since Kearse went down the defense has been dreadful.
The Eagles choked against the Giants,Saints, and Bucs and almost gave another one up against the Skins today.

Does Arizona's win help Coach Green stay another year?

Same thing for Coach Fisher in Tennessee. Does he come back next season as the Titan's head coach?

How about the Patriots and Jets losing today? Didn't see them two happening.

well it was a 20 point game and normally you'd be kneeling to run the clock out there, but...he is a great player. didn't do anything at all until the game was over in the 4th quarter, but denver always gives him problems.

SD may well get the #1 seed, but with schottenheimer coaching I'd bet that the odds of them losing the first playoff game are 50/50.

No way Fisher gets fired in Tennessee now. The only way he leaves is if he takes a job somewhere else, like the rumor of possibly replacing Parcells if he decides to retire.

They have to keep Fisher. He has done a hell of a job coaching to the player's strengths and has developed Vince Young very nicely. Much of the same way he was able to coach Steve McNair.

Catching up and just saw this comment. I posted almost the same thing in the Barry thread. It was amazing how easy he made that look when Denver had to know he was getting it. Like I said in the other thread, if LT can keep this up for 4 or 5 more years, he'll be my #1 rated back for all time.

I do enjoy watching him. Like Barry, he seems very classy.

Disagree. We signed Garcia for a reason, and that is to be able to win if McNabb went down. Garcia is playing well enough that I think the Playoffs are a possibility. If the Eagles make the playoffs, who know what could happen in the NFC. Especially with Seattle looking shaky today and Chicago having QB issues.

That is amazing. I didn't realize there was that much hate for the Texans in Houston. Are there still people torn about the Oilers leaving and some of them converted to Texans fans? Is it because the Houston Texans chose a Defensive Lineman on their first pick? Or is it because people just generally hate the choices they have made and root against them. I was amazed to read all that. Even watching the game on TV, you can hear a lot of people rooting for Vince Young and his game winning run.

I know it's a long shot, but that's the disclaimer I put. To start the season 0-5, and have some people question if you'll even win a game, to finish at 8-8 is an awesome achievement.

I'm not sure I'd have had him take a knee at all when you're on the opposing 5 yard line. I mean, what, you're going to just cram the ball down their throats and then, just to be nice, as SOON as you're inside the red zone, give up and not score?

The only thing I can figure is that that's a calculated insult on the part of Sean Payton, because nothing else makes sense to me.

The initial AP story, sans quotes, was chalking it up to Payton being "playful" against his former team. Somehow, I'm not buying that.

The 'new' story has a couple dry quotes from Parcells, but nothing from anybody else. Hmm.

How is NOT running up the score classless?

Yep, it's amazing. A few weeks ago, Rutgers was beating up on Syracuse 31-7, and we had the ball with about 5 mins left in the 4th. So we gave it to Brian Leonard to run it up the middle 7 straight times. He got down to the 2 yard line, and then the next play, he punched it in for the TD (which also gave him the Rutgers career scoring record). But there were Cuse fans who were bitching that we were running up the score, and that we should've just taken a knee once we got down by the goalline. We never threw the ball, never ran it outside of the tackles, and never even subbed out the RB. And yet, we were classless for running the same play 7 times.

There must be tons of Cuse fans scattered around the country.

By the way, Jeeber knew they were going to lose this game. That is why he picked New Orleans in the Yahoo Pickem. Good move Jeeber. Good move.

I thought it was going to be closer than the spread, that's for sure...

Wait a minute, my beloved Cards beat Seattle with a healthy Hasselbeck and Alexander to make it 2 wins in a row? WTF?

they can't even get a high draft pick right

They'll make sure to win just enough so they can't take an elite lineman this year.

Really? Did you not see on the previous play Reggie Bush go out of bounds on the 5 yard line rather than run up the score, when the Cowboys defenders had obviously given up on trying to tackle him? Who was really dissing Parcells? The Saints, or the guys playing for him.

I know who Parcells was mad at.

Yeah, that didn't make sense. So they're up by a shitload, onside kick, score yet again, then kneel when you're within the opponent's 5 yard line so they don't ram up the score... huh?

The onside kick was still in the 3rd quarter (unless I had more to drink last night that I think I did) and enough 4th quarter comebacks have occured that I don't see that as a valid part of the argument of easing up. The Saints stopped "trying to score" relatively early in the 4th once they realized they had broken the Cowboy's spirit.

It was 35 - 17, and if you've been a Saints fan long enough you know that is not a big enough lead in the 4th quarter to be able to turn it off and feel good about it. The onside kick was sort of the nail in the coffin, getting that and a TD on that drive sealed the game.

Just double checked and it was in the 3rd quarter. The Saints didn't score at all in the 4th when they had clearly "called off the dogs."

Running up the score is something I can buy in college because those are just kids playing the game they love (for the most part)

In the NFL there is no such thing. These guys are made millions of dollars. You keep pounding them till it ends. If they give up it's not your problem. They deserve it.

All now that we are an hour or so away from gametime, I want to know. What is the minimum stat line that will keep Rex Grossman on the field for the rest of the season.

I say 13 for 20 210 yards 1 TD 1 INT.

I really think Lovie is serious with the no QB switch thing.

I say he could go 15 for 28, 190 yards, 1 TD, 3 INTs
