I'm writing a marketing paper and my group has chosen a new ice cream bar and need to make some promotional decisions. Please give me some feed back.
Would you try an "Artic Latte" (Coffee Ice Cream Cent surrounded by sweet cream ice cream and a thin layer of carmel, wrapped in Hersheys milk chocolate)?
Would you be more inclined to try it if 10% of proceeds were donated to zoos?
Would you be more inclined to try it if there was a coupon on the back of your movie ticket?
Would you be more inclined to try it if there was an evecatching display in the super market?
WOuld you buy an Ice Cream Candy Bar at the movies?
Not a fan of coffee, that said I probably wouldn't try it, regardless.
If it were just about anything else, I'd try it normally, via movie ticket, and the market display.
Candy bar? As long as it's not coffee flavored.
I'm not sure I catch the zoo connection.

We are marketing it with the Penguin movie Happy Feet. Thus the zoo connection
I'd suck all the chocolate and ice cream and caramel out and then spit the coffee flavor onto the floor.

You'd have to add a "c" to get my purchase.

Probably wouldn't try it as I really don't care for the combination of cold + coffee (and that's from a 3 pot per day coffee drinker).
No to the rest of the questions.

I would like to vote no for all the options.
Now, a coupon for more of the ice cream, I would go for. But does anyone think of movies or zoos when buying ice cream at the Supermarket? Displays at the supermarket may sell a lot of things, but doesn't do much for me when it comes to ice cream.
Sounds interesting though, so would be willing to try.

Starbucks coffee icecreams are surprisingly delicious. I'd probably try this product no matter how you marketed it.

If I wasn't allergic, I'd say the 10% proceeds to the zoo would be enticing.

3 pots a day?
Yep, give or take a half a pot.

Actually, probably a better way to do it is to include a coupon for the ice cream with the movie ticket.

Given that I've never heard of it, a display would probably entice me the most

I'm with Quik. Hey! Isn't there a "c" missing there too? Damn elitists and their double standards.;)

so is this an actual ice cream bar? cuz i frikkin want one!
seriously, sounds good. FWIW...the zoo-thing would entice me try, as would the coupon on the back of the movie ticket (especially assuming said arctic latte was available at the movie theater). The display in the supermarket...not so much. cuz when i go to the supermarket i "shut off" the "vulnerable to ads" part of my brain. I know what i'm there for, I get it and go.
but if you get me at the movie theater, when i am already in a consuming mindframe and open to trying new things (such as new movies) then you've already got me "open" so it's an easier sell.
my 2 cents. heh. maybe i should be in marketing.

It sounds really good to me. I think in theory the coupon on the movie ticket would be most effective, but since I don't go to the movies, I'd prefer a supermarket display campaign.
I want one now tho.

Hate coffee ice cream, so nothing it would entice me to buy. I'm not a coupon guy, so that wouldn't do much for me. I don't really see a logical connect between the ice cream and the zoo, and if I wanted money to go to the zoo I'd give it to a zoo and cut out the middle man.
However, a supermarket display wouldn't make me buy it, but it would certainly help my product knowledge and increase the possibility of a purchase if it were a product I liked and was spelled correctly.

Yeah, no chance I would buy this, coffee flavored stuff sucks. But 10% to the Zoos would be cool. So would spellchecking.

Indeed. Quik's post was a great moment in FOFC history to me.

The display would be most likely to work on me. Coupon might work, but i'd be likely to not notice it or throw it away after forgetting about it.
10% wouldnt mean anything to me. 100% wouldn't mean anything to me, for that matter.
