32 Wii Games by end of year, 30 Virtual Console titles.

Wii: 62 Games in First Five Weeks
Nintendo says 32 new Wii titles and an additional 30 Virtual Console classics will be available this year.

October 31, 2006 - Nintendo of America today announced that 62 games - 32 of them Wii titles and another 30 Virtual Console classics - will be available for its new generation console in the first five weeks of launch.
"Developers worldwide have enhanced Wii's launch library of new games with countless new ways to play," said George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications, in a statement. "Whether you pick a completely new property or a classic franchise, the Wii experience draws you in."
Before the end of December alone, these games will be available for Wii:
Call of Duty 3
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
Rapala Tournament Fishing
Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam
World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2
Trauma Center: Second Opinion
Madden NFL 07
Need for Speed Carbon
Happy Feet
Rampage: Total Destruction
The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy
The Ant Bully

In addition, there will be 30 Virtual Console games available through December. Gamers can purchase these games using Wii Points, which can be purchased with real, live money. NES games start at 500 points ($5), Super NES at 800 points ($8), and Nintendo 64 games at 1,000 points ($10).

"Nintendo has offered a great gateway in bringing classic SEGA titles such as Sonic The Hedgehog, Altered Beast and Toe Jam & Earl to Wii console owners," said Scott A. Steinberg, vice president of marketing, SEGA of America. "This is only the beginning though, as you can expect to see more announcements regarding other legendary titles from SEGA's catalog coming to the Wii Shop Channel in the coming months."
