Finally my daugther Celia is here! She was born on 28th at 20:50. Her weight was 3530 grams and she was 51cm long that is over the average for a girl. Both the mum and the girl are ok, the mum a bit on pain but it's the usual after that.

It all started the night of 27th to 28th, my wife started to feel the "pre birth pain" after a long walk, we waited the whole night so excited with the clock keeping track of the time betwen the pain. At 1pm the pain was every 3 minutes so we decided to go to the hospital. after 2 hours she was half ready so the doctor put her the epidural anesthesia and then she felt way better all the pain was gone. We were even making jokes and really surprised about how easy was being it all. At 6pm she was ready to give birth, but the baby was still high up in the pelvis so she was told to start to push harder, after 2 hours more the baby was still high so the doctors decided to use the forceps and force the birth as the baby was starting to be in risk.

Then it was so fast, the doctor told me to go out of the room (they allow you to watch the birth unless they do surgery or force it, that was the case). Then i went out and 2 minutes later, when i was still close to the door, the doctor went out and told me that the baby was born!! she only had to push once as the girl was almost out, but she had the cord around the neck, and that was why she couldn't go out by herself. The girl and the mum were ok and i was allowed to enter in the room again and then... i entered and saw both in the bed, my wife smilling with the baby over her and i started to cry like a baby, i don't ever cry, i haven't for years, but that was incredible, i hugged them both and we started to cry out loud.

After two days at the hospital we are back at home, my wife has some pain as the use of forceps have a bit longer recovery time (larger cut in the vagina) but we are so excited and happy. I'm who clean and dress the girl as my wife can't walk by now and then my wife feeds her. It takes me 1 hour to clean and dress the girl (i had zero experience) but i guess i'll get used to it. By now we have been so lucky, the girl is sleeping a lot, we need to wake her up to eat, else she can sleep for like 6 straight hours and she only cries when she is dirty.

What else to say, i'm so fuc*ing excited, we were so tired after 2 days almost not sleeping or eating (of course my wife way more), but we have recovered last night as the girl only cried twice to be feeded up so we could sleep well.

Here are some pics from the hospital when she was just 30 minutes old:

Her weight was 3530 grams and she was 51cm long that is over the average for a girl.

I'm sure many will go "huh?" with metric measures, so here are the conversions ;)

3530 grams = 7 lbs 12 1/4 oz
51cm = 20"

Awesome. I still remember the two times I saw my wife give birth... I am not a crier either, but I teared up then. If not then, when?

Congrats, glad everything worked out well for you!

and I cried like a baby too, both times. I would have completely freaked out if they'd asked me to step out for any reason like they asked you Icy. I just cannot fathom leaving the side of the bed for one tiny moment...

I really did, the worst 5 minutes in my life but i know they don't want anybody to disturb the doctors there when they need to do surgery or any kind of assisted birth. It's a common rule in Spanish hospitals and it was not a good time to arge it.

Maybe there'll be a PDF-manual in the next patch?! You'll have to go to the official forums and ask.

Congrats!

For our first, I didn't watch any part of the birth. The cool part though was when Anthony was born he heard me talk and quieted down immediately. I guess part of it was because I used to talk to him while he was in the "oven."

Sorry, got a little sidetracked. With the second one, Alex, I got brave and decided to watch the birth. His head popped out, then I guess he got stuck a bit, because the doctor had to put his foot up on the bed for leverage! One pull and he was out. I almost had a heartattack. All this talk about being gentle with babies and the doctor is bracing for leverage to get the kid out!

Icy first off congrats, kids are the greatest.

Now a bit of bad news. Rumor has it the "Official Kids Manual" is to be released with the patch to FPS Football 99. The outlook is kinda bleak. On the job training looks like the route you will have to take. For real though you will figure it out just be sure to invest in the little blue powder smelling bags for the diapers.
